Women who have been raped by their husband have to visit the husband in prison with their child.

Terrorists are not deported. We have to people who go over to Syria to join ISIS back into the country.

I asked for hard facts please not anecdotes.

I like the analogy. I wouldn't "go over" in that situation, because I personally see virtually no difference between that and diving.

Interestingly though, I don't feel like I'm screwing myself as you suggested in your penultimate paragraph. By having a decent chunk of savings in place and a half-decent pair of careers partially developed Mrs Tree and I possibly won't be eligible for the full range of welfare state benefits that other parents can access. But we don't WANT to be in the financial position that would see us meet the access criteria because we believe our children and ourselves will have a better life doing it the way we have budgeted.
I know you wouldn't and that's why you are screwing yourself. Unfortunately that's what most Tory voters are like until eventually they have enough and say screw all the freeloaders.

Probably because they're British citizens and it is illegal to leave people stateless.

Foreign terrorists are deported when a case has been proven against them and sentence served, if indeed it is to be served here, just not to places where they are likely to face torture or the death penalty.
Good argument for bringing back hanging ;)

You have a point, but that point does not outweigh the suggestion that society would be better off as a whole if people all made serious financial decisions after properly considering all the factors. Your point sits alongside it, it does not contradict it.

I agree to an extent. However, people don't have kids to screw over their fellow countrymen. They do it so that they can affirm the love that they have with each other. Tax dodgers are generally greedy.

No I didn't. Not once.

I suggested that I didn't think there was discrimination against men in terms of hiring and promoting. And I don't.

I never said I thought it existed the other way.
What do you call a company policy of

"If there are two people who are equally qualified then the company should hire the woman or in the case of redundancy fire the man"

This is quite common today.

btw There's no two people who are equally qualified as that would mean they are exactly the same and since everyone is an individual that's impossible.

If you leave the UK to go and fight for ISIS, I don't want you back in this country. You don't deserve to be back in this country. You've revoked your British citizenship the moment you signed on the metaphorical dotted line.

No-one's suggesting that having kids automatically screws over everyone else.

I'm saying that DELIBERATELY having kids without saving anything at all beforehand and without having a steady income in place runs a much greater risk of having to rely far more heavily on state support, at everyone else's expense, and to the detriment of others who have fallen on hard times despite having taken a more prudent, measured approach. Tax dodgers are greedy, but that does not have any bearing on the accuracy of my stated belief, or lack thereof.

And if people have kids to affirm the love they have for each other, why do some of them then not stay together, or refuse to support their own kids?

I'm pretty sure that's not common at all.

I skipped over why you are screwing yourself however I will answer it. I don't know much about the specifics but generally the welfare state is based on need above all else.

The more you save the less you will need of the government and therefore the less you will get.

If you want kids now have them. I would argue this would be the best time. You might even be able to get housing benefit as well.

Forget about the morality. You have to do what's best for your family - that's your most important responsibility and besides you will probably end up over your lifespan more than paying enough in tax to make up for it.

Besides ISIS is a state. It's in the name. You're their citizen now and good riddins. Personally I think we should subsidize the tickets for anyone wanting to leave and go over.
