Maybe A new leader for Labour heard him on LBC was Totenhams David Lammy, he stated on his door to door small businesses gave him short shrift - he got in easy , but not the biggest fan of EB! Maybe a good contender to lead Labour!

Lammy? Leader?! In his wildest of dreams, perhaps.

I was just answering his question. But I would argue that the most popular news sources in this country are right wing.

Doesn't really matter though in the most part though.

The vast majority of Daily Mail readers with an interest in politics will never vote for a party to the left.
The opposite can be said for Guardian readers

The only vaguely popular paper in the land which, from a political perspective, isn't preaching to the converted, year in, year out, is The S*n, which has a circulation of ~ 2 million. Most S*n readers will never change their party allegiance. Maybe 250k of them will be swayed by what's said there, but even that's probably an over-estimate.

It's just an easy argument to make to blame the press.

I think there are enough floating voters, ultimately the ones who matter, who read newspapers and are influenced by them. I would point to the huge attack on the Labour SNP partnership as a working example of it.

It's laughable that you've just compared those two. For a start, the Mail has 8X the readership of the Granuaid. First of all, that suggests a different demographic. Secondly, any 'influence' the Mail may have can therefore be seen to be 8X as potent as the Grauniad's.

Ultimately, I expect many more Mail readers will be "influenced" by their paper's "opinions" than the Guardian because they're less informed. My Mum, for example, was much more Tory when my (Mail reading) Dad was alive. She's become quite left-wing these last few years...
