We reek of Villa in 2016 don’t we?

Very much so. We have so many players out of contract that we need half a squad replacing. That will be much harder to do with less revenue and even less appeal. Branthwaite will be sold at a lower price then if we were a top tier team. Pickford won't stay and risk his England spot. Make that a full squad to replace....Can't believe we have people on here saying relegation wouldn't be a bad thing/ wouldn't be that impactful.
The championship is littered with teams that have never come back up, most that do go straight back down again.
Loss of revenue from TV deals, reduction in sponsorship revenue, better players leaving. Unfortunately a shiny new stadium guarantees nothing results wise and promotion back up would be far from a formality.
The only way to build the club back up is by getting new owners in asap, getting a change of manager, getting the fans back onside and getting to BMD still in the premier league.
Branthwaite is in danger of getting dragged down with this lot and it impacting his perceived sale value.Very much so. We have so many players out of contract that we need half a squad replacing. He was awful on Sunday. Hopefully it's an aberration as he's absolutely key to our chances of survival.Branthwaite is in danger of getting dragged down with this lot and it impacting his perceived sale value.
His agent will be nervous with factors outside of his client’s control (Sunday’s error aside)
Totally mate.He was awful on Sunday. Hopefully it's an aberration as he's absolutely key to our chances of survival.
I fear that might be Potter, who strikes me as a mad punt when fighting the drop.We reek of Villa in 2016 don’t we?

Not daft at all, the club has been acting like 17th is the aim for the last few years, there’s no getting away from it. It’s why I’ve defended dyche on here a fair bit, I think he’s a complete nob and I hate the football we play, but I can understand the thinking behind it when the squad is crap and the remit is so obviously to just keep their heads above water. You can’t run a club the way we have for years and expect growth and improvement, it’s utterly ridiculous. We just have to pray the new owners know what they’re doing otherwise we’re screwed. You can only circle the drain for so long.
Sounds daft but the alarm bells started for me when we signed Demarai Gray and Townsend. That was a club planting its flag firmly in the bottom 6.
The fact they made a better deal a priority somewhat indicates they will be better at managing the finances. No-one expected us to go backwards so much this seasonI hope we stay up, but not as much as I hoped we would last year or the season before. We learned nothing from 2023. It was only the points deduction that truly fired my desire for us to stay up in 2024. Without that, I think I would have been less invested. I'm even less invested in the 2025 battle. You can't mismanage the club to this extent without richly deserving your fate. Even the Friedkins played fast and loose with their Lanigan's Ball carry-on over the summer. We're still waiting for them because they put a better deal above all else. Well, hope your gains aren't wiped out in the Championship, Dan.
