2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Southampton are down for me. No signs of them ever seeming likely to win a game. They do not have one single player that’s quality enough to win them games. Ipswich are another team that’s completely out of place in the premier league. Surprised they’ve stuck with McKenna (maybe they’ll want him to manage them again in the championship). The third will be between Leicester and Palace. Wolves with Pereira will win some games and be safe, and we have enough this season to avoid the drop.

Not a chance palace go down.

They can score goals.

I think Leicester are dropping like a stone. It’s down to Ipswich for me, they’ve had some good results but also some bad runs and I don’t think they’ve won a game at home all season yet.

Scored 3 more than us hahahaha
Surprised me that

From November until mid December only 1 game they hadn’t scored in until yesterday.

Look at the goal difference of the bottom 3, that isn't sustainable
Yep. Said it last season that GD is worth an extra vital point whilst you're near the bottom. As long as our GD doesn't swing too much into the negative then we're looking reasonably healthy there compared to the current bottom three.

Hopefully Arsenal put a few more past Ipswich tonight.

We are definitely still in the relegation fight - any 3 from 6 I think although I wouldn't be surprised if Brentford dropped into the fight.

As everyone says Southampton look done so it's 2 from 5 for me.

We should have too much to avoid the drop but I'm not convinced that draws will do it . We have to pick up 4 or 5 wins from somewhere as well.

Ultimately I think the 3 promoted teams will go but I'd like to get those wins asap so we can relax , punt Dyche and enjoy the last few games at the Old Lady.

Throw in Leicester, Newcastle and Fulham then it’s really poor. 4 points from 21 from that set of games means we need some wins quickly to just get us some distance.

Yeah maybe... in isolation though those weren't necessarily bad results. I think if we pick up more points in the games I mentioned, then these games come into the conversation as "we'd be top half now if we'd converted them into wins".

I look at Palace and think they're not in a relegation fight yet we're on the same points as them and are 'in massive trouble.' You also see reading other teams forums they rate us quite high because of our defense, it can be hard to see the positives when you're down here to be honest.
