2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

I agree. Screwed.
If we go down, I fear it could be for a long time. Our present squad would probably finish up in league 1.
We have lost the ability to attack, never mind score goals.
On our present form can you imagine us beating Leeds Sheffield and now even Burnley and Sunderland.
Yes, because there is a huge drop off in quality between the PL and the Championship. However, we won't have this squad of we go down. Half of them are out of contract and players like Pickford, Tarkowski, Branthwaite and even McNeill would be sold. About 7 or 8 of our current squad would still be here should we be relegated.

I could see us finishing just outside the relegation zone in the Championship, no more.

Saw Burnley last week on Sky and ex Man U Hanibal came on as a sub for them. He’d likely be a starter for us right now. Our squad, as many have said, is deplorable.

On the plus side if we go down 3 of those four teams will have gone up.
We`ll be seen as a big scalp for any of the teams that play regular in the championship, and every game will be hard fought. We`ll also have to cope with another 6 games in the season so our thread bare squad would be even more stretched and I could see us signing a few journey men just to boost numbers. When villa went down last time they had a mid table finish in their first season and if we were to do similar I`d be worried we might have a hard time trying to recover and could be fighting it out to get back up for a while.
