2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

Leeds go straight back down, especially with the guy in charge. Most seasons now 2/3 teams go back down.

Leeds were an interesting case last time. They were going to sack Marsch during the World Cup break but he randomly won at the swamp so they gave him 5-6 games after the break and that was fateful. They sacked him a week after this club appointed Dyche so when you think they ended the season with Big Sam in charge that hesitancy cost them premier league status in the short term.

Farke never looked capable of scrapping out wins with Norwich so I'd be amazed if they think he should be getting 25-30 games, it will be ten at the very most I suspect.

And the thing about doing a Forest is it’s a massive gamble. Almost didn’t work for Forest the first 2 seasons. Not many owners roll the dice like they did.

I think Fulham have probably overall done the best in last three years. Never been in any danger of going down and made some brilliant signings and now have an experienced 11 that is fully capable of going away to Newcastle and turning a 1-0 into a win with half an hour left. Must be the first Fulham team in decades at top level that is getting better results away than at home.

What helped them was a top flight manager like Silva having a bad 18 months and being available and deciding he probably needed a project club to rebuild his career and it was a great call for both parties as very rare you see a manager like that dropping into the championship. Bielsa at Leeds another obvious example and they stayed up comfortably in their first season up.

Russell Martin not good enough, McKenna probably will be but not just yet and Cooper/RVN poor choices from Leicester so probably weren't expecting Maresca to walk out.

Time to start looking up now 💪 To cash out or not to cash out that is the question 🤔 Take €24 or wait for €1,000 🤑 #UTFT #Everton

Looking at the managers likely to come up next year. Wilder, Parker and Farke. All not good enough for the Prem.

And they had to break the spending rules to only just stay up. The whole system is rigged against teams staying up really, although I suppose we shouldn't complain about that.

….as I said before the game, I couldn’t understand posters wanting Leicester to get something at Spurs. Two consecutive wins for them significantly changes the situation.

Regardless, we can’t do anything about results elsewhere, it is what it is. I’d assume Ipswich will pick up 3 at the weekend so it’ll be a plus if we can maintain our gap with the bottom 4.

4 more wins will hopefully be enough.
Funny old game

Leicesters win last week brought Spurs into the mix.
We are now 2 pt's ahead of Spurs.
Ipswich lost.
We beat Leicester with a whopping goal difference & are 9 points above them.

Much better scenario.

…really? From where we were, I’d still much prefer to be a further 3 points ahead of Leicester. Catching teams ahead of us will look after itself, but the bigger the gap with the bottom 4 the better.

Hopefully, all conjecture now ;)

Absolutely killed Ipswich getting beat by Southampton.
Yeah, my ITFC family are totally flat, they felt their season started today.
Was watching one of their tv channels on YouTube broadcast after today's game , totally defeated.
Shame imo, they've had a wonderful 2 years but today is probably the start of the fall, angry at Moric the keeper , frustrated at certain players and the acceptance that they simply are not good enough.
As one of them said , if you can't beat Saints at home in a must win game , your don't belong on top division fair enough I think.

Anyone who buys the goalie and centre half FROM Vincent Kompanys Burnley is asking for trouble.

Not the way I see it
Of course we want a big gap ( which we have ) but it's much better if more teams are below us scrapping it out.

Still need 3 more wins and a few draws & then not worry who's in the mix.
