Not that I'm superstitious or anything.

Why not rename it? Like a “how we’re doing,” kind of thread?

I think it’s been quite nice to have a contextual league thread where we can talk about our performance relative to the teams around us - as well as pass comment on how those teams are doing when they are playing and we’re not.

Given they are our league table neighbours, the Spurs / United match tomorrow is the kind of thing it might be nice to discuss in this thread, too - rather than exclusively in World Football… but of course it’s not really relegation-related.

The only way this team could go down was through atrocious coaching and by God did they make a run at it for awhile, but alas it has been over for awhile and we shouldn't god willing have to worry about it again for some time.

I think there's a realistic 18 points left there for us.

Could be a couple of points short of that if we get yet more injuries.

That'd get us to what we did last season and about the same league position.

To do that running on fumes in terms of squad investment has been remarkable.

Everyone at the club on the playing side needs to be congratulated.

That's what 'mentality monster' really means - not winning clutch games armed with world class players to come off the bench that cost a kings ransom.

Of those 18 points you are now saying we should win. How many of them would you have been saying we should win prior to 6 games ago? Or would you have been happy settling for draws in them all?
