2024/25 Relegation Thread

What charge is this as they bypassed the first one on a technicality. We saw last season the second charge gets smaller punishment with four points taken off and Forest also had four points taken off so it won't be a significant deduction for Leicester if they do actually get points taken off.

Think their next three home games are West Ham, Brighton and Wolves so that's probably why they've ditched Cooper as they could win two of those.
They've got away with the weird situation around jurisdiction for a past situation, but we've got no idea what's coming in their accounts, Forest managed to get a deduction despite only having just come up so it could happen to Leicester too if they've carried on their mismanagement

Interesting to see what happens with West Ham tonight. They have probably had some thoughts about bringing Potter in to replace their current manager.

Obviously they will be concerned that Leicester may now get the jump on him and employ him first. Wouldn’t be surprised if they lose tonight and sack Lopetegui to try and beat Leicester to him.

Is this worse than our 90s period? 2 last day escapes in 5 years, but in the middle of that was an FA Cup win and a top 6 finish?

Worst post war Everton?
Well we got relegated in the early 50s so no

But it does feel like worse than the 90s as it was very up and down, 94 followed by the highs of 95 to 96 and then the rapid decline to 98, in some ways this period reminds me of the Walter smith era where we were playing dour football and were only saved by the legend that was KC, I felt we never really improved under smith but he did a 'Dyche' type job until we looked like we were getting close to the trapdoor and Moyes turned round our fortunes

West Ham will sack him by Jan if he doesn’t pick things up, unlike Everton this squad is easily top half capable as Moyes showed so it’s unlikely they’ll go down, unless they try and beat Leicester to the “best squad” to be relegated.

I personally think Potter is prime for West Ham if lopetegui goes. They've got enough decent players for him to work with and i think west ham fans would lay off him if he never hit the ground running. They want good football. Chelsea apart his coaching CV at Brighton Swansea and the swedish club is very very good.
I'd like him at Everton but im not convinced he would get the time to change things here as there is so much that needs doing. I think he could work with players at west ham straight away. I can imagine him on the first day of training at Everton and watching Doucoure trying to weight a pass and thinking what the hell have i done.
