2024/25 Relegation Thread

I hadn’t really taken stock of January’s fixtures because of the hell hole that is December. But Jesus Christ, I can’t see us getting a win there neither.

Bournemouth A
Villa H
Spurs H
Brighton A

Only way this changes is with heavy investment in early in the month or Dyche is removed ahead of time.

Everton’s winter of discontent is upon us.

It's going to fall on the fans again isn't it? Make Goodison horrible to scrap a few wins out again.
Honestly I worry we haven’t got it left in us , everyone seems drained . The likes of the 1878’s are doing their best but it’s definitely a struggle to generate anything at the minute, people look exhausted with it all .

You can’t and I won’t blame dyche exclusively he’s just the latest in a line of mismanagement on and off the field.

I said it before Brentford and I'll reiterate..

Unless the Freidkin's help us out with the January window then I fear the worst personally.

Just a few weeks ago I wasn't even worried about relegation - now I can very well see us being one of the three unless we get a serious injection of life back into this side. Dyche has been a major factor in draining it out of them in the first place IMO.

This is true but his dismissal of Goodison's last season and narky comments about the fans has helped create a disconnect.
New manager would help ignite the crowd again imo

He’s certainly not embraced the fanbase which I don’t get personally. Whilst recognising Lampard’s many failings he certainly harnessed the crowd and I’ve no idea why any manager wouldn’t seek to do the same

Because he’s an egomaniac and can’t have anything else other than his own genius being a factor in us picking up points or wins.

Because Lampard knew he needed and happily accepted the help with gratitude.
Dyche wants all the credit for himself and none of the blame

This squad of players are good enough to be away from danger imo.
A change in manager/playing style and mentality will see us comfortable.

We have seen all these players perform well in moments, the problem we have is this guy has no idea how to get belief consistency and form into his players.

We absolutely do need investment on the pitch but not to avoid a relegation battle, there is enough quality here already for this to not be a conversation.
Although our manager wont have us believe that because of his own lack of ability in his job.

Whether it's by design or not, he just seems to talk us down constantly & tries to deflect blame, or at the very least tries to make out that it ultimately isn't his responsibility to actually improve the side and see us climb up the table..

He needs to go for that IMO.

I'd still replace almost all of them given the chance, but I do think the players are being made to look even worse than they actually are by the current style of football.

With proper coaching and a decent right-back, it could be a different team.
