2024/25 Relegation Thread

We need to win at least one of ours whatever happens. Happy to not be losing of course but we’re racking up a lot of draws. Wins move the needle - a big win in December could be huge for us (also true for all the other teams on this list too, however)
I'd love a win for Christmas!!!

But who is on our fixture list to make this possible ?
got to target both of the home games. We have a decent record against Chelsea at home and simply have to take a few risks (which Dyche won’t, sadly). City are in awful form but it’s still City - it’s a free hit at the Ethiad.

My main gripe with Dyche is that he extremely risk averse and doesn’t even bother trying to set us up to nick a rogue win out of a tough fixture

Get the first goal v Forest and low block them to death. Haven't lost to Forest since they came back up although they are miles better this season.

If you look at previous results actually had a better record v Wolves when Nuno was managing them than in recent seasons so I wouldn't just write that off even though they're 4th currently.

…I tend to think Forest are suited to counter-attack so our style doesn’t suit them so much.

I think the club will have looked at December and predicted 5-6 points and to finish the mid point of the season on 16-17 point, second half of the season needs to be better but we have more games at home against the bottom rivals

I'm still expecting nothing next couple and forest will be tough, but if we can get to 16 or 18 from that game it's not too bad a return from December and I think it works out better for us to play the RS in Feb

Easier said then done they we are approaching games at the moment

Really? Middle of January it's Villa and Spurs within three days and also got both Manchester clubs, Arsenal and RS to play yet. Critical to beat Leicester at home in early Feb but then it's a long wait to May to play Ipswich and Southampton right at the end. That could still work out well if on 32-33 points so just need one win out of the two to virtually confirm safety.

I would say it's a tough second half of the season for the final Goodison games so vital to pick up an away win or two from somewhere.

Don't win at Man. City and it's one away win in the whole of 2024.

Danny Rohl? Yeah, 100% the type of manager they'd look for. "Progressive" ex data analyst under 40 who would do well for them if they go the champos. No pressure to keep them in the league.
He has Sheff Wed in 9th atm (I think) which is quite something considering they were doomed last season, he has turned them around, Southampton is a huge job though given their position. If he pulls it off they wont keep hold of him though that's the thing.
