2024/25 Relegation Thread

Sheep will be sheep and men will be men.

Benitez did have an upside with a history of some success. And the RS absolutely hated him coming here. I posted at the time how much I didn't want the fat waiter to come to Goodison but at least there was some (misplaced) rationale. With moyes it's just cold gravy.
There was no upside to Benitez he was the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time.

All the clubs shoukd break the rules and see what happens then.

A few clubs have breached; Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Nottingham Forrest, Leicester, some have narrowly avoided it by selling players; Newcastle, Wolves, Aston Villa.

But the premier league only go after the ones they want to. There is no framework for sanctions, so clubs will always appeal and it just comes down to how good your legal team is.

I assume you're new to soccerball? Moyes insulted all Everton fans after he left. Now the scruffy mare comes back when he's desperate and been binned off by the likes of Sunderland and West Ham having left us thinking he was God's gift in replacing Ferguson at United.

Everton fans just need to grow a pair and make clear to the rat he's not welcome.
He didn't offend me, I'm an adult. I want to pull away from relegation and trying to hound out the new manager is an idiotic way of trying to achieve that.

Lowest point in our history? Ooh, that's a hell of a question when there is so much to choose from in our modern history alone.

I'd offer the following options:

The 0-5 derby in 1982; the 0-0 draw with Coventry in front of 9,000 in 1983; the supine acceptance of Thatcher's UEFA ban in 1985; the 2-6 versus Villa in 1989 that confirmed we were finished as a top club; the 1-5 versus Norwich in 1993 when Efan Ekoku (!) scored four; the 0-3 versus Leeds on the second-last weekend of the 93/94 season; the 0-4 versus Arsenal on the second-last weekend of the 1997/98 season; Everton 0-3 Tranmere - "disappointing"; the 0-3 versus Middlesbrough in the cup quarter-final in 2002; the day we sold Rooney; Reading beating us in the cup; Wigan beating us in the cup, as Roberto passed his audition; the day we signed Aiden McGeady; the day we re-signed Rooney; Southampton 4-1 Everton, 2018, with Unsy and Joe Royle ushering in Big Sam; Everton 2-6 Spurs, 2018; Millwall beating us in the cup; Liverpool's children beating us in the cup; The day James took a plane to Colombia as we were being battered at City; the day Carlo jacked it in, leading to Senor Benitez joining a small cloob; "Enjoy the football"; "I said to Woany there, Everton have forgotten how to win a football match"; "We've had good times, haven't we?"; Headlock gate; Everton 1-4 Newcastle; 10-point deduction; 2-point deduction; 777 enter exclusivity.

A litany of pain and abuse. The story continues...

I would add Dyche not doing the bus welcomes anymore. That was incredible and for some reason we jibbed it.

That is defo coming btw. The bookies are never wrong when it comes to their money. It would also explain why city have had their blip and why players like Kyle Walker want to leave. They have defo been told we are getting a points deduction and could go down. I’ve said it to family and friends for ages.

Southampton
Leicester
Man city
If they're 6th fave, that means they have them finishing 15th, if they're never wrong, why have you then said they're going to finish 18th and be relegated?

If anything, it's clever business by the bookies, as loads of rival fans will throw some money on it for a laugh, as we all would if it was Liverpool. But the bookies know they won't drop. So all those "fun bets" lose.
