2024/25 Relegation Thread

Another occasion where Ipswich can't back up a decent result. One home win in 11 for them.

Going to be a very big weekend in two weeks as Ipswich home to Southampton and Everton-Leicester. Not sure who Wolves are playing.

And Brighton had gone 8 games without a win til today, then Ipswich couldn't even put a dent in them at home.

Wolves are at home to Villa that weekend.

Interesting. Villa playing Celtic three days before so Wolves will be looking at that game as realistic chance to get a draw and build from that.

Brighton were brilliant second half. Not going to cope with them in 9 days time if they reach that level I'm afraid. Will be similar score to the opening day.

Yeah I spose. I've been looking at it as Saints are gone already. They'd have to win 5 just to have any chance, so 1 wouldn't have mattered
5 wins puts Southampton on 21 points. Wolves and Ipswich are on 16 and we are on 17.

Southampton would need 8 wins to even get to 30 points which I doubt will be enough to stay up. Think it will require a low points total to stay up this year though - maybe 32-34 points.

Given who we have at home having yet again lost soft ones at start of season, we have to,start picking up points pronto

If the league gave us back the 8 points they stole last season, we'd move up the league table a full 2 places currently.

We are in a world of trouble. There's no Kevin Campbell (rest in peace 'super') sat in Turkiye this time round to jump in and save us.

Simon Jordon, whether you care for his opinion or not, reckons Southampton & Leicester are deffo gone. Also reckons Wolves have 'had their bounce' and thinks we'll finish above them regardless.
