2024/25 Relegation Thread

Southampton are almost certain to beat Derby’s record unless they catch someone cold late on, worrying for their fans that it’s now twice in 3 games they’ve collapsed from being 1-0 up

Wouldn't have been if Dyche was still here.

Vast majority of this forum wanted him gone even a month before it happened so just curious at the ones who were relaxed at keeping him in place until March/April as little chance Spurs result would've happened given the flow of that game.
It was clear he had to go after the capitulation to Bournemouth. We did the same thing the following week against Villa for the slow learners.

Dyche did a fine job for 18 months. But his methods had run out of steam. It was clear to anybody paying attention. A change was critical. That the Friedkins were prepared to procrastinate should be a worry for all of us in terms of their judgement.

Personally I'd have sacked Dyche after Southampton loss. A third of the season at that point and people could see how it was panning out under him. Perhaps Moyes wouldn't have dug out as many draws against the top lot but he'd have done better against Brentford with 10 men for an hour for sure.

Guess the takeover complicated things but it would be good to relieve the manager a bit earlier in a season than going to mid January and finally acting.
