25,000 England fans- no arrests

All that hysteria of 'I'm not supporting England because of the hooligan fans' is rather hollow now.

I think it's superb that so many flew out to support the team.

In all honesty GOT has been quite a negative, snidey place to be if you have been supporting England in this festival of football.



From the BBC.

Despite their disappointment, the UK police delegation in Bloemfontein said there had been no reports of arrests or trouble by fans after the game.

Assistant chief constable Andy Holt said: "I'm massively impressed by the way England fans have reacted... we've not had any trouble whatsoever.

England fans were engaging in an orgy of self-deprecation - they really weren't in any way aggressive towards the German supporters."
 
there was non in Sa which is birillant, as for at home, well all the yobs are at home, so what do you expect.

Honestly, all I heard was how England fans are animals abroad and many peeps here were nodding in agreement.

I'm just highlighting that after a shocking defeat to our deadliest enemy on the pitch there were no arrests in South Africa.

25,000 flew out so that is quite something. I'd never defend a hooligan but these guys who went there were there for the tournament.


That link you posted said there were no arrests. And he is obviously simple to put himself in such position.

Turn it the other way round. England win 4-1 and there is a big English supporting alehouse with his shirt off in the middle of Munich right in the middle of German fans. You would all be saying what is that graceless **** doing there goading the Germans after they got battered.


Anyway I read that many fans are so disillusioned with the team they are saying it's the end on an era for the players and also for many fans. I doubt 25,000 will fly to Brazil in 4 years.
 
Where did it say he was goading the English mate? Come on, you can't make excuses for that behaviour. Once again, England fans have disgraced themselves with an exit from the World Cup. *PING

Like I said, I've witnessed it for many years in different locations overseas. When England go out, there is usually trouble afoot locally. It's no coincidence.

Read what I wrote, as I put it from a point of view if the same thing happened in Germany. I said people on this forum would say he was goading the Germans.
 

MY 'arl fella is at Lake Garda at the moment, and the camp is full of Germans, they were all running round his caravan doing dambusters yesterday !!

Wait until you see the whites of their eyes Dad !!

I'm actually quite suprised he didn't get stabbed. He did well if you ask me.

Tell you what though. Call me cynical, but there was absolute 0% chance of me wearing an England shirt and waving an England flag in the centre of Berlin when they are playing England.

Now that would be a bad idea wouldn't it....? i'd probably get beaten up wouldn't I????

I watched Avatar at the weekend. I feel disgusted to be human.

It ran in all the major papers. You would expect London to be a city in ruins.

I'll take an elbow in the back as the sum total of violence in Piccadilly. (And I agree, odd decision to be where he was dressed the way he was.)

That must have been utterly hilarious to see - the Germans taking the rip out of us (in a good natured way I surmise) - turning our humour back on us!
