The reality is that we'll never have a 100% united fanbase on this because some fans on social media (this is especially common on Facebook) who never actually put their hands in their pockets and go the game just want to play the superfan and look down on anyone demanding more from the club. They don't actually care about the club. They read about the results on social media or occasionally catch a game in the pub. That's why they can be so blindly positive and trot out endless cringeworthy sentiments while sneering at anyone that questions them.

We'll lose 5-0 at home to a bang average side and some bellend on facebook will say "I felt more down reading all the negativity on here then I did about the result or the club in general! If you people can't be positive about the club then keep your opinions to yourself or go support someone else!"

Someone will then point out how unacceptable the result was and how bad our form has been and rise legitimate questions and concerns about the club.

And the bellend will respond "if you understood this club club you wouldn't need any explanation, you'd just support the club. You don't understand so you don't matter!"

Its a grave mistake to take anything said on facebook seriously. Many of these people only care about the club on an incredibly superficial level.

Your first paragraph is rubbish. Facebook people have their identity public and most of them are definitely match going fans.

This forum is the opposite. People typing and speaking to people like they never would in real life and post OTT opinions.

Genuinely, I do believe this forum could benefit from some verification / making real names mandatory.

It would clean up a lot of nonsense.

A massive chuck of them have never set foot inside Goodison. Loads of them talk a good game but are clueless. Just like GOT can be OTT and negative Facebook does the exact same thing but at the other then end of the spectrum in forced positivity. Because it's public half of them want to show everyone just how big a super loyal fan they are. Half of them act like they'd never say anything negative about the club and come off as phony as hell because they are.

Totally agree. Forums in general are full of keyboard warriors who don't go the game. They tend to be full of cliques and sheep following someone else opinion

I think that is a fair point made. Getting shot of the current incumbents might only serve to create further issues down the line if and when Moshiri jack's it in.

Rock and a hard place comes to mind.

We may yet be proven wrong but, alas, I think we may be stuck with BK/DBB et al for the foreseeable future.
