2nd club

Used to have a soft spot for Southampton, as a kid supported them for a while, being from the south my mates at primary school did so I sort of followed suit, had the rank xerox kit. They brought a reserve team to play our village team one summer, still have the program, signed by Lawrie McMenemy. Only started watching Everton because of big Nev as I was a budding goalkeeper at the time. Pretty good timing it being mid 80s.
Years later I had a career change and ended up doing mature work experience at the Southampton echo, we covered a former saints players charity golf day, met McMenemy again and amongst others a certain Alan Ball, this would have been about 2006. I was star struck to say the least with him.

Not a second team. I used to go to Brentford a hell of a lot living a few miles down the road as a youth. Couldn't afford the fare to goodison at the time. Now it's Cambridge UTD for me again being just a few miles down the road. Normally go there on a boys afternoon towards the end of the season when it's warm

Support your local, they say. I guess our local is these lot, just a short (3 hours) drive away. Been a handful of times and enjoyed them enough. I've seen Clint Dempsey, Wayne Rooney, Jesus Ferreira's first senior goal, not much noteworthy at the last match we saw except it was wild and ended 3-3.

Weirdly I went to Carrow Road a fair few times when at UEA. 22 year ago, like.

Used to watch my home town team Boston United every home game when I was a teenager. Still go to a game with mates when I'm back in town. They're second bottom in the conference and likely to be releg8ed.

Before kids came along I had a Millwall season ticket for a couple of seasons as we lived 10 minute walk from The Den. It's a great atmosphere when it's full.

Lived in Gloucester for 4 years and watched Gloucester City a few times but never enjoyed it particularly, not least because they played in Cheltenham meaning I had to drive there meaning I couldn't have a beer. My old boy next door neighbour says "c'mn waaaach the rugby wi'mme". Never been into rugby before but every other weekend at Kingsholm got me hooked. I've zero interest in international rugby but regularly tune in for the Premiership, especially if the Cherries are playing.

I've a couple of really good mates, one an Arsenal fan, the other a Saints fan so soft spot for Arsenal and Southampton. I think we've identified all of the players who've played for each of Everton, Southampton and Arsenal now. Theo Walcott is our collective hero (as we're too young for Alan Ball).

So, Boston United and probably Millwall as second teams.

Probably spurs. My dad’s a spurs fan and my son supports them too. I think I put my son off supporting Everton due to the amount of times he’s seen me throwing remote controls and kicking chairs and doorframes watching Everton play.
In a restaurant in a West End town?

Give it a few months and you might be clearing up after them ...
