4 points off 4th

my worst fear will be taking a 1-0 lead against spurs into half time

can just see it now, be like the battle of stromberg

If we were 4 points clear of Arsenal and Spurs, we'd be sweating now, with the games we have left.

8 games remaining, five of them away. Away games to come against 4 of the top 7 clubs. 6 of our last 8 opponents are London clubs.

With so many tough games, even if we win one or two big matches it will be unbelievably tough to keep a winning streak going, which we'll have to do to make up the 4 point deficit. If we lose to Spurs - as it's odds on we will - we'd virtually have to win our seven remaining games.

The main thing in our favour is that we are outsiders. We will need to play with freedom and lack of fear if we're to give ourselves any kind of a chance.

Probably about just as much chance of us coming 3rd as it is to come 5th, a very low probability for either. We'll finish 6th or 7th, we need a miracle, we cant afford to lose a game.

agreed would be really shocked if we can finish higher than 6th considering the games we have and the little margin for error.

such a shame as this season we really had a good chance but I think theirs been too many negative issues 1. injuries, 2. Moyes's contract situation and 3. Felliani spouting off all the time

We wont lost a game now for the rest of the season. It's in the tea leaves. PG Tips too.

Just have to believe and think positively. It will be done.

Still think that a more realistic aim is finish on our best PL points total (63?) - that would be a measurable sign of progress after the ups and downs of the season. Whether or not it will be good enough for CL or Europa is another question.

We need and should win every home game, that would put us on 60. Then aim for 8 points from the away games, it's a big ask but that is what needs to happen to give us any chance.

To be honest, we might have to win all games home and away as they include beating teams above and around us. Just winning home games will not be enough IMO.

Also, winning at the RS is something Moyes doesn't do. The RS have an agreement with the devil.
It will be a big ask and achievement to finish fourth and rely on others dropping points to teams other than Everton.

I can't see us finishing 4th. It is possible, but we need some serious luck on the way. Beat Spurs on Sunday and our chances will improve significantly. We absolutely MUST win all of our remaining home games, which is definitely do-able.

There is one major problem I see as it stands. If we are to finish 4th then as everyone will agree, we MUST beat Spurs and then we MUST beat QPR. That will mean we have won 5 games on the bounce. Have we ever managed a run like that in the league?

Is it not 4?

5 league games, given we beat reading before the wigan game. 4 actual games.

But honestly as long as we beat qpr, sunderland, fulham and west ham, we don't need to beat spurs.

2 wins and 2 draws out of the four games at chelsea, liverpool, arsenal and spurs will probably do it, no matter where the 2 wins come.

I can't see us beating Spurs on Sunday. Two massive players out and we didn't look too handsome at Stoke. Mirallas Osman and Jelavic will need to have big games. I can see a draw.

Gahhh. People need to just get real here. We are NOT going to finish 4th or higher this year. It just isn't going to happen.

Not so much because of the undeniably tough games that we have, but BECAUSE WE BOTTLE IT EVERY TIME WE GET CLOSE. Have you all memories so shallow? don't you remember back just 3 games ago?

Our run-in could be the bottom 7 clubs and I would still take the same outlook. It isn't about the teams in front of us, it's about the team in blue, and we just haven't got it mentally.
