5 games to go - as good as it gets or can it be maintained?

It isnt difficult to paint a scenario that might pan out.

Arsenal seemingly in freefall, relatively. Jose pretty much prioritising the EL, half of City's squad apparently heading off in the summer.

Its a billion miles from being nailed on, and I havnt a clue who everyone else has to play.

HT. Southampton 0 0 City.

Just saying.
City are out of sight. Forget them. Only debate for me is how or even if United and Arsenal throw away three games in hand to fall below us.

Obviously sitting in 5th right now is the peak moment of the season. Can we hold on to this or will it slip slightly?

United and Arsenal have three games in hand - regardless of their runs ins being worse than ours (not sure I'd say it's that more difficult, tbh). But I think most people will say 6th is possible but edging toward probably now. I'm not sure, I think it's still a probable 7th place finish.

I can see us getting 10 out of the last 15 points available. That'll set a decent total for Arsenal and United, but an achievable one. Any more than that and 6th comes into play defo; any less will defo see us finish 7th...which isn't a moot point as an early season start is required for the EL qualifier, and that can seriously affect a clean break between seasons.

Dave....we sat second for a few weeks in September.....I'd say that was the "peak moment of the season" ;)

Arsenal away is likely to be our toughest fixture imo.

Chelsea is winnable given the effect Goodison can have in evening out differences in talent. Look at what happened last season in the QF.

We'll go unbeaten until the last game of the season and pick up a couple of costly draws along the way.

Arsenal look like they've given it up - Wenger's clearly lost the dressing room, no fight in any of them. They crack when they're under pressure like they are now too. We can defo win at their place, it's not exactly a fortress.

I get a feeling we'll beat Chelsea at home. And Watford as well based on how we've been playing. Swansea should be a win as well. West Ham away we always seem to win. The game I'm unsure about is Arsenal away. If we're still in the top 5 race, or even fighting for 6th at that point, I can see us winning with the way they've been playing as of this moment.

15 points is definitely possible with our momentum. Realistically though, I'd say we go unbeaten for sure. Probably right about 10 points- 13 if we have something to fight for at the end.

Arsenal are terrible. Games in hand, but we'll have a better run in. Still will take a bit of luck to finish higher than 7th.
In what sense do Arsenal have a worse run in?

They have a game more against a team above them than us and that's the north London derby which usually goes their way. Similarly United have three tough ones to our two tough ones.
