6 + 2 Point Deductions

Im not really into all this legal stuff, so not sure how it all works. But in regards to Man Citys 115 charges, the prem appear to be waiting and will decide on these all at the same time. Why can’t they just break them up and do a few at a time?
Ours and forests were apparently quick to deal with as there weren’t many. Can’t that be done with Man City?
Probably a stupid question, I’m just curious.

The PL and the media got what they wanted - Forest and Everton fans arguing with each other. It shouldn't happen, Both cases are different. All they will talk about next week for the Everton v Forest game is the points deduction and how badly run the clubs are. It Won't be pretty viewing nor will the game either.

I think they're waiting to change the rules so they can just fine them tbh.

Ridiculously I believe it should be they've been charged under these rules so same punishments if found guilty should count. However we all know it won't be like that

I'm going to keep saying it until I'm blue in the face, pardon the pun, but if Forest don't get 2 additional points added following their appeal, Everton should take the process further. Or at least use it in our appeal so we remove the 2 points from the 2nd charge.

The commissions have tried not to use a strict guideline, but in both our first charge and second, they reference one point per £6.5m multiple times and that is how they arrive at a 5 point starting point. 3 points for any breach, and 1 point per 6.5m.

This would mean Everton's starting point for all breaches should be 3 points for 21/22 breach, 3 points for £19.5m, 3 points for 22/23 breach 2 points for £16.6m breach. Total 11 points. We received 4 points back on the first appeal and 3 points from the second appeal. But even let's stick with the total 8 we have as being fair (even though it breaches their own guidelines, i.e why did our first charge start at 10 points reduced to 6 with mitigation), lets look at Forest.

3 points for 22/23 breach, 5 points for £34.6m breach. 8 points, with 2 reduced for exceptional co-operation. Why have they not received a 6 point penalty?

Again this isn't just wishful interpretation, in Everton's 2nd charge the Premier League explicitly request not to follow the Forest guidelines, the IC agrees and states it disgarees with how Forest's case was calculated.

Therefore by their own admission, the Forest appeal should result in 2 extra points as it will use our 2nd charge as precedent, or we can once again state Forest's judgement is too lenient in comparison to ours when it comes to our appeal. The statement the end of the document makes is ludicrous that we should have a greater amount of points as it is two breaches. They obviously should be proportional to overspend, otherwise clubs would be encouraged to maximise losses in a single season knowing you will get a more lenient sentence (and likely get a greater sporting advantage i.e say a promoted club, let's call them nottingham forest, cram many signings to stay up and benefit from further future premier league tv payments...)

I would bet there are only a few teams in the prem that have not broken these rules ...... it's pure victimisation plus to keep changes the rules it's a disgrace - ruined the season plus now appeals have gone in no one will know the prize money or who is relegated - the prem have dug a hole & keep digging IMO ....

What do you expect from the Cricket fraternity from Lords ?
I remember him - we are a small club like Forest - can he remember when man city were a 3rd division side ?

There's some decent info on him on his Wiki page...

People just want to believe what they see and that’s been taken away from us. Trust and perception are everything, and like you say from VAR to PSR there are now so many levers of control for people in secret rooms to change everything you think you’re seeing.

Scored a goal? Hang on, don’t actually celebrate, let’s try find anything possible wrong with it first. Won a game? Woah there, check your capitalisation of interest costs to see if you keep the points.

Half the league now feels like there’s a conspiracy against them, none have a better case than us, but at the end of the day even if we’re all completely wrong they’ve created that perception by moving the game so far away from what fans can see on the pitch.
Spot on.

This is true but the PL have still taken most of this season to deal with 3 breaches (us twice and Forest once). Also we still have 2x appeals to complete.

By all accounts, there's going to be more teams breaching next season, with Leicester already charged and likely to fail again. Also Who know how many other teams will come into it (maybe villa, Newcastle, Chelsea and how Bournemouth are above the line I'll never know).

The PL have shown they can barely complete 3 charges. What will they do when there's 5 or 7?
