6 + 2 Point Deductions

Put it this way, if we were to get any deduction that would mean the club STILL didn't learn anything despite repeated offences (whether you believe in the rules or not) and points deductions and would deserve to be relegated. You'd hope the new owners only came in on the guarantee that we are within the threshold.

The worst thing is, we all know any other team that breaks the rules won't have the Everton precedent applied to them and will be given much lighter deductions for overspending more than we did. I want Leicester crushed if they've broken the rules.

With the enormous potential for lots of legal costs perhaps the Premier league have been told it’s in there and it’s member club’s interests not to leak information before an official announcement? I think we all know that whatever happens, absolutely no points deductions are being given to Chelsea, Man Utd or Man City who are the 3 clubs most flagrantly sticking 2 fingers up to these arbitrary rules and in Man Utd’s case actually being given favourable outcomes and decisions by the Premier league to allow them not to breach its own set of rules.

Everton have likely stayed within the PSR limits thanks to the sales of Alex Iwobi, Lewis Dobbin, and Demarai Gray. Leicester City, however, have struggled. They were charged with a £24.4m PSR breach for 2020-23, and although an independent commission ruled they couldn't be charged for submitting their June 2023 accounts after relegation, they now face stricter financial limits of £83m due to their time in the Championship.

Chelsea, despite losses of £211m over the last two years, have claimed they will comply with PSR. They avoided a breach by selling two hotels to a related company, BlueCo 22, for £76.5m. Chelsea also transferred ownership of their women's team to BlueCo 22, valued at £150m, which may still be subject to assessment.

Manchester United’s 2023-24 accounts suggest they won’t breach the PSR either, but their £131m loss last season leaves little financial flexibility. Similarly, Newcastle met PSR by selling players after posting £150m in losses, while Bournemouth and Ipswich, with smaller incomes, are close to the line but confident of compliance.

Despite making a £211 mill loss over 2 years 😂 😂

Chelsea will have enough off the books assets to put on the books to clear near £100mill of debt 😂

Not true. It means the PL are still playing hardball over the stadium interest rates, which still hasn’t been settled. So how can we have learned anything from a process that is still being played out? Incidentally, independent audits are on Everton’s side. Interest should be used in our calculations.

Moyes being fairly bullish about needing players and telling the owners what we need. If they have sold him a pup by saying “everything is fiiiiiine” only for us to breach it would be very very very stupid of new owners who’ve been rifling through our books (twice) for months to outright lie to a new manager. A manger they have hundreds of millions of £s relying on.

We might have been the only job he would take, but you’d hope if there was a whiff of any more PSR nonsense he’d have stayed away.
