6 + 2 Point Deductions

still dont get why they should decide when we should have been punished, the prem had to change the rules so would be done the same season. So they cant really say we should have got punished that season becuause of was no time frame of the case. If this does go wrong will open the door for others to do the same

That won't be their argument.

I'm sorry but I just really don't see the argument against us here..

We were crap - but Burnley were infinitely crapper and no amount of 'breaking PSR' would have changed that, quite evidently. The fact that this has even found any traction at all is, once again, a total farce.

These have been relegated from the PL 4 times in the last 10 years, they are the very definition of a yo-yo club, Please Everton don't just hand these a bunch of money bring it into court, tell them we've punished for rule breaking and the timing of this punishment had nothing to do with us, if the timing of our punishment didn't benefit Burnley, then go after those who dished out the punishment.. We have served our time.

I thought that was another good way of looking at the so called Burnley claim. Read/Seen a few say its only 10mil mAX they can get, if that was even true

I was under the impression that the financial year does not end until the end of June. So at the point at which the season ended in May and Burnley were relegated, Everton had not yet breached or overpent as there was still 6 weeks of the financial year to go.

Had Everton sold £19.5 million worth of players post season before the end of June 22 then they would not have breached PSR. Burnley would still have had the same disadvantage during the season itself as Everton would have still had the same compliment of players for the duration of the season .

Therefore whether Everton did or did not go on to raise the additional 19.5 million between May and June would have had no impact on the outcome of the season itself

I thought their argument was that we should have been penalized for the year in question when the initial complaint was submitted?
It can't be though, can it? It doesn't even make sense. Even now, the rules are that the punishment is applied in the following season. It would be impossible to apply them to the season of the charge, and Burnley know that.

I’m all for jumping on the band wagon that this case against us is a non starter.

BUT….If this really was the case, why would Burnley still be pursuing a case against us? Surely their legal team would have advised them it’s not worth it?

That’s what still concerns me. There must be some level of confidence they can win, otherwise why bother?

But that is exactly what the original complaint from those teams was about. Everton football club needs to stick to its guns here and not back down, they followed the premier leagues guidelines and the points were deducted accordingly the following season. We should have nothing to answer for.

Why would anybody file any case then if they had no chance. People lose and win cases all the time. Go watch Judge Judy even idiots think they are in with a chance. 😂
