6 + 2 Point Deductions

Emailed the Premier League

Probs won’t achieve anything, but it felt therapeutic if nothing else

To whom it may concern,

I’d like to state how throughly disgusted I am with the Premier League for imposing a 10 point deduction upon Everton Football Club for Financial Fair Play breaches

It is a wholly disproportionate penalty for the offence committed, and could likely doom Everton to relegation from the league

How on Earth can the league justify such a steep penalty? When six clubs tried to form a breakaway league they were merely handed a pitiful fee and given no further punishment

And yet Everton, one of the 22 founding teams of the league in 1992, and one that supported the league in its hour of need when the spectre of the European Super League loomed, gets hit with this ridiculously harsh punishment?

For the first time ever I think those six teams might have had a point in trying to leave, because the Premier League in its current state is seemingly rotten to the core

I hope Everton FC do manage to stay up and I also hope that similar punishments will be handed out to other sides who breach FFP rules. To do otherwise would represent nothing else but blatant corruption in my mind

Good day

I honestly don’t know how they go about proving that if we had spent £19mill less then Dom’s diving header goes wide, or Rhodri’s handball wasn’t given (oh.. wait), or we didn’t annihilate Brighton. Infinite variables. Pretty sure we would have had more points if we had NOT bought certain players.

That we tried to get away with this sort of thing is absolutely laughable. This is just from a scan of the document They had to try I guess but still. Utter nonsense calculating league positions based on this, or saying Richarlison was worth £80m in any world

I cant understand the argument though, that Everton's history would suggest players were mostly sold within the Premier league, fair do's, however, to then say that because of that we weren't affected by player valuation in other countries is a bit mental. If you cant sell a player in the UK, then other suitors would come forward. Yes maybe at a slightly reduced price, but a profitable one. It seems that Everton's argument was that this opportunity was removed due to Covid, and the PL, seem, to have backed that up by saying we had no buyers in the PL.
Good point!

The report on the whole seemed a bit light on full details to me

The worst thing about this is it's confirmation we have cheated.

Dyche will rack up the points in no time, there should be no concern about staying up - I think we will be out of the relegation zone within 2 games personally.

Longer term our reputation has been shattered.
Every single team guilty of it, we are the only team to be punished for it and probably will be the only team to be punished

Referring to the application from Leeds, Forest, Southampton, Burnley and Leicester. Apparently they tried to become part of the complaint and the KC ruled that they may be eligible for compensation in the event we were found to have breached the rules.
This will be what will kill the club not a points deduction.

I think we will stay up even if this disproportionate penalty remains.

What will relegate us is the further points deducted from any administration which will undoubtedly follow .

No one in their right mind is going to invest in Everton with the prospect of multi claimant legal actions which could easily result in financial mayhem for the club.

The premier league wanted to set a precedent and they have done using us. But there are so many contradictions. For example how can everton be punished before city are punished despite the alleged wrongdoings coming after city's ones. The club needs to do everything to ensure city and chelseas punishments are made before the end of the season.

Gutting. It’ll be a hard job staying up, though we are playing well but now we have to hope we can keep our good run going and there’s less room for mistakes.

It’ll be interesting to see what happened with Man City and Chelsea. I wonder if they’ll be dealt with just as harshly? This could be a case of penalising teams that it’s easier to penalise but on the other hand it could be them setting a bar and getting people ready for a bigger penalty for them.

For sporting integrity which the report claims is so massive, it shouldnt take 7 months to determine the appeal.

Should the PL show their corruptness further by dismissing the appeal, im sure Everton will be able to take it to CAS.
Yup, get that appeal committee together Monday morning and get them to rubber stamp whatever the PL want the final punishment to be. No point wasting months pretending this is a proper process and undermining the integrity of the league any further.
