6 + 2 Point Deductions

Nah. They won't be taking off points then adding them back. The 10 points will stay.

The decision isn't resting on much legal foundation dave - what are the criteria for it being up to twelve points, or ten points out of those twelve? What advantage did we get from overspending at that time? How does this overspending by less than £20 million compare with - for example - secret payments to the club from an owner, or an owner spending a billion pounds on transfer fees alone for two seasons when they are out of the Champions League?

As I said above the finding is one thing (and should really only be reassessed when City and Chelsea face the same process), but the deduction gives the PL nowhere to go for future cases; everything where PSR has been breached by more than £20 million must now result in a deduction greater than ten points. Every PSR case where the club blocks or obstructs the investigation must now result in a deduction greater than ten points.

If that is where the PL want to be then fine, but they really need to write that down so everyone understands it.

.

How long would an appeal take though? I think Id sooner battle with SheffU, Luton and Burnley than Leicester, Leeds and Southampton.

Roughly when are the City/Chelsea decisions being made? Are they imminent or are we talking months away?

This decision is terrible, but if there was ever a year to have it go against us, this is the one. We’ve been 8, 9 and 10 points better than the current bottom three through the first 12 games. With our GD almost certainly being worth a point over those, surely we can manage a meager 2 more points than them over the final 26.

Emailed the Premier League

Probs won’t achieve anything, but it felt therapeutic if nothing else

To whom it may concern,

I’d like to state how throughly disgusted I am with the Premier League for imposing a 10 point deduction upon Everton Football Club for Financial Fair Play breaches

It is a wholly disproportionate penalty for the offence committed, and could likely doom Everton to relegation from the league

How on Earth can the league justify such a steep penalty? When six clubs tried to form a breakaway league they were merely handed a pitiful fee and given no further punishment

And yet Everton, one of the 22 founding teams of the league in 1992, and one that supported the league in its hour of need when the spectre of the European Super League loomed, gets hit with this ridiculously harsh punishment?

For the first time ever I think those six teams might have had a point in trying to leave, because the Premier League in its current state is seemingly rotten to the core

I hope Everton FC do manage to stay up and I also hope that similar punishments will be handed out to other sides who breach FFP rules. To do otherwise would represent nothing else but blatant corruption in my mind

Good day

Michael Fitzgerald

well done mate ;)

Of course we dont want any points deduction but if it has to be then best that it's this season with 3 far worse teams than us.

1 points needed now to be out of the bottom 3 as it stands

We'll be fine (hopefully)

Need to have an Everton vs the rest of the world attitude from both players and fans now, especially at Goodison!

…well said, Mikey.

I hope a strongly worded fans petition will be organised.
