6 + 2 Point Deductions

There's your answer mate.

I understand that the rules never apply to Liverpool in practice, but what I don’t get is the amnesia from everyone else on the matter. The truth is that they were so insolvent that the owners had their company forcibly repossessed against their will, and no sporting punishment was received at all.

Similarly, there is never any reference to the 12 point deduction received by Tottenham Hotspur for ILLEGAL PAYMENTS TO PLAYERS in 1994. A punishment that was then changed to a fine and no points deduction whatsoever!

People are acting like there is no precedent for financial mismanagement in the top flight, but there is a bucket load, and I can’t think of any better examples than Spurs and Liverpool getting away with… murder.

I think that's all fuel to our anger. It's why this cant go away. Its not just for this season either. If we're fortunate enough to beat the drop then it'll encourage them to come again at Everton and they'll think we're an easy target.

All out resistance is our only option here until we force them back on that points deduction.

Carefully choreographed ‘drama’ between 6 teams on a weekly basis to suit the bookmakers and media partners , 14 teams staying in their lane taking their beatings as they should, the money continuously rolling in. That is all the PL care about and they’ll put up any blocker to stop this being disrupted.

And this end game means we cannot be sure that it matters anymore who we in the UK watch, support, buy the merchandise from, as the international market dwarfs the domestic one and the power now lies with our elitist overlords who control the rights to this game that we now are forced to pay for.

(As they stated, they may “not want another Leicester” (my club) but screw them all, they cannot take it back despite frequently redacting that achievement)

I see the same independent panel will decide if we're liable for compensation to Leeds,Burnley etc.

Marvellous

I just don’t get how they have a claim. If our punishment is 10 points this season then that is the punishment.
You can’t punish us because they have implemented the deduction this season rather than last.

I know Leicester have lost out but Luton have gained - as have Burnley.

That’s exactly what the argument was (although not specific for Pickford).
I think what’s been lost a bit, is that the P&S target is not £105m it’s zero. The £105m is to allow flexibility in that, and wasn’t intended to be used as a target.
Like nearly all clubs, we used the £105m as a target instead. (When I say we, I mean that utter fool Moshiri)

How fair all of this is is a totally different issue of course, but that’s how the PL see it.

Yeah i get that way of looking at it!
I used to work at a place that allowed 2 'rest & recuperation days' per year if they needed it!
Its safe to say everyone used those days up when there annual leave days had dried up

This needs shouting loud and clear constantly on all available media outlets that they cannot control - it’s despicable.

Only club with a real decent claim is Burnley who bounced straight back so "only" lost 40 mil.

"The Athletic has since been told the [Premier League] sanction framework was only meant to be used for Everton’s case. It is understood no such league-wide sanction policy is in the pipeline at the moment and that such a change would need to be communicated to clubs formally and via the handbook."

Wait, how is this even fair? They're admitting they just decided to punish us before they even put something together going forward? We, AGAIN, are being made an example of.

I did not think about that you are then effectively be punished twice. Either you pay the compensation and keep the points or the other way around
