6 + 2 Point Deductions

Only problem being there won't be any other clubs penalised
If they are planning on not penalising other clubs then they had better give 10 points back and hope it's forgotten about by the time other guilty verdicts come along... they've been told that Everton will be keeping a close eye on future verdicts.. even changing rules after our outcome could nay should lead to legal issues.

It SHOULD lead to legal issues. They've already admitted to The Athletic that the punishment was a one time thing and wouldn't apply to other clubs. How the hell is that fair?

Be nice to get a whopping points total then prem refuse appeal. We stay up but sets a precedent for all those that follow.
Thought struck me last night, and we’re not there yet, but IF we maintain form and open up another gap to the relegation zone is there an argument to withdraw the appeal before it’s decided? Two reasons:

a) the appeal board don’t just have to tinker with the points, they could change it to a big fine or a transfer ban. If we are sitting clear of the relegation zone either, but especially a transfer ban, could be more damaging to the long term interests of the club than the points.

b) as you say, the precedent is then set at ten points for a 20m breach. They don’t HAVE to stick to it but when other clubs have FFP issues (and they will) that will be the yardstick all other clubs will be measuring by. A precedent of very harsh points punishments could benefit us in future seasons when we are clear but others fall foul.

I doubt we ever would but if we were a good bit clear before the appeal is over it might just be something to think about.
