6 + 2 Point Deductions

Maybe that's why he was only hired after all the clubs submitted their books on 31st of December.

Just shows people jumping the gun saying reduced to 6 points are way off the mark.
If this guy has only just been appointed there won't be a result anytime soon either.
But the books are up to 30 June (coinciding with a season), aren't they? Makes absolutely no odds whether costs are incurred on 31 December 2023 or 1 Jan 2024 - the accounts submitted are effectively for the season 2022/23

Honestly the sums involved means that only a specialized legal team would have been instructed by us. To think we never is just wrong, there is only a very small pool of highly skilled lawyers in this area in the country.

Also the role of a lawyer is to do the best job in the circumstances. If your client has admitted failings then minimising the damage is the best that can be done. They are not going to magically win a case after their client has accepted fault.

I don't really understand why we were given such a narrow timeframe to submit our appeal when weeks later there appears to have been no hurry to make any other progress towards a hearing and a final judgment. Has an appeal panel even been selected? Half the league is effected by this now so it should be the highest priority to get it sorted quickly.

I guess the cynical explanation is they want to slow down the process to see how many clubs are going to be charged, if any, later this month before they set any final precedents with us. If a few teams are staring down the barrel they may need to concoct something else to prevent the whole league becoming a farce.
Wish I had the answers mate.

With the government breathing down their necks I'd of thought they would want this sorted as soon as possible.

I really wouldn't know mate .

Why aren't they submitted on the 30th June or just after ?
Surely doesn't take 6 months to prepare a set of accounts.

Seems the rules change by the week.

Public companies have to submit accounts to Companies House within 6 months, so I don't think the PL timescales are terribly different to "the norm".
(and private companies have 9 months)
