777 Partners - New Poll Added 18/10/23

New Poll... are you in favour of 777 Partners acquiring Everton FC

  • Total voters
    460
  • Poll closed .
Then that's instant 9 point deduction and relegation.
That would be the very worst thing that could happen.
Was being sarcastic. Although I will say, unless there’s an actual big moneybags new owner that comes in and decides he wants to clear this like Newcastle stumbled into (so not 777)…It seems we’re prolonging an inevitability. That much debt with as little revenue as we have relative to the total is bleak.

It’s weird the Hertha narrative pushing the last couple of days, clearly leaks, but it’s not a good news story they are 6th in the second German division.

Is this the best angle that can be leaked from their portfolio……
Turning a club around that was losing a lot of money every year is surely a good thing, they are now in a better position to run the club e.g player and staff recruitment.

They’ve done this at Genoa too and are now comfortably mid table in Serie A,

So many red flags, but these are two big good things they have done and what we will need to do.

I fear that this is like saying that whatever else people say about Gary Glitter, he had some good tunes.

But that alone won’t restore a clubs fortune .
It is all they have done .
When Genoa needed improvements to the academy they raised the money from the supporters rather than investing themselves.
That to me is an abrogation of their responsibilities as owners.
When sporting success presented itself to the London Lions , they were unable to support it or build on it , instead they curtailed it due to inability to finance it , that again is a betrayal of their role as owners of a sporting club.
It is in their interest for the clubs they own to be self sustaining and profit from player trading.
Like parasites they need their host in reasonable health to allow them to extract the finance they feed on .

So 777 are trying to sell Standard Liege and Red Star. Wonder why?? An utter joke this lot.

The London Lions thing has abysmal optics, and does seem like building more slowly may have been more sustainable, but I think there is some nuance. From a basketball site praising the success of the Lions (whose players knew they would not be competing the following year so they went all out for it).

“Yet, the decision by 777 Partners – as painful as it is – has been made to put the team on a stronger footing over the long term as they look to build from the bottom up, not from the top down.

They have spent a lot of money, and spent it quick; the firm went on record in December to say their total investment in British basketball between the Lions and the League is over £40 million.

Bringing in players of the calibre they have does not come cheap – one insider told Hoopsfix they believe their budget would have been in the top half of teams in the Euroleague, let alone the EuroCup.

All the while, ticket sales, which averaged in the very low hundreds, struggled until the showpiece final.

It highlights the delicate balance between achieving success and securing the financial and structural support necessary to sustain it.

As 777 Partners promises a future return to international competition, the sports community is left to wonder what could have been for a team that achieved the unthinkable.”
