But it’s not like the worst case scenarios are pie in the sky stuff. They are distinct possibilities at the moment. Now, that’s not to say they are probabilities, but there is a genuine risk of his scenarios happening. I think we should be shouting about that in the press. It doesn’t make it more likey to happen.It's dangerously negative because he's painted the worst case scenario as the most likely scenario, and now that's being repeated as gospel in multiple national newspapers. A perception of imminent insolvency potentially inhibits the club doing business and could even become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I think he should measure his words more carefully, but then measured words don't get you in the papers.
And there he is, getting himself into a national newspaper, creating a dangerously negative perception about the club that could put off potential investors, potential signings and potential commercial partners, and cause fear and alarm across the whole fanbase, and more importantly in hundreds of staff who will be more worried than ever about their jobs, all based on what is, after all, one man's opinion of a situation he doesn't have full insight into.
But he doesn't care about that because he got himself in the paper.
