9/11 was without doubt the single most devasting event I witnessed in my lifetime . I will never forget where I was nor what I was doing . I was in a place called Standish near Wigan installing a boiler for an old chap . He called me down from the loft space to look at what was unfolding LIVE on the TV . What I witnessed once I entered his lounge will live with me till the day I die .

Watching the horrowing footage of everyday people who were in New York City that day on the programme Channel 4 are showing is bringing me to tears . Absolutely gut wrenching viewing .

God bless New York City .

I watched some of it before, the Missus has got it on, she had a little cry before and she did last night.

I was off work and my mate rang and said put Sky News on now, I couldnt believe what I was seeing, then the 2nd plane hit.

RIP to all those who died.

Yes mate, iv been watching this since 9. Lots of the footage iv never seen. Harrownig [Poor language removed]. The people jumping will live with me forever.

ive got that programme about the phone calls recorded. I dont want to watch it. But its one of those programs you just have to see at some point.

Terrible

i also think its awful that the program about the phone calls got aired. Just awful

Watched a bit of it, will go and watch some more now

9/11 was one of the worst tragedies I will ever witness

I was at school, When I got home I turned the tele on and saw it all.

I will never forget that.

Terrible. We must never forget. RIP.

Ye saw that last night. Some of them calls are very upsetting.

Just watching those brave fireman some of whom answered a call sent out for all those off duty to report for duty go into that tower to there collective deaths is killing me :(

I remember I was in Manchester watching Moulin Rouge with the mrs.

Came out unaware of what had happened and watched it all unfold on those giant, 30 foot TV screens they have in The Printworks.

Still very vivid. Not sure I can watch those programs to be honest.

Ive been fortunate enough to visit New York City a number of times even going up the World Trade Center . I can only imagine the horror that those poor , poor people went through before the towers fell .

It does make you wonder though that a nation thats spends billions and billions on weapons and defence couldnt get fighter jets scrambled to intercept the second jet ? Also BBC news reported the second plane hitting BEFORE it actually did . Its not the time to go into deeper detail not when when watching something so emotional .

Just watched that. The fact there was no voiceover commentary made even more of an impact. Terrible, terrible events.

I wouldn't say it was amusing, but that scene at the end after both towers had fallen and you see the owner of the Blarney Stone Bar then shut up shop....!

Just watched it, some of the footage is simply horrific and surreal. The falling people, where you don't really recognise how fast they are going into you see them disappear behind a second building. Simply horrific.

RIP to all of them, to those who were trapped, to those who were on the floors simply doing their job where the planes hit and to those brave who tried to rescue them and paid the ultimate price for it.

I went to ground zero when I was in New York. A couple of years ago I think. I remember when I first knew about it, came back from school, with my Mum glued to the TV. You simply don't forget moments like that.

I'm almost as shocked watching the twin towers footage as I am by what took place later that day at wtc7 and subsequently in the few weeks after 9/11.
I have the utmost of sympathy for the families of those who died that day and especially those unwilling and unknowing pawns in a government plot to invade Iraq. It makes me wish hell were real so that those responsible would get their comeuppance.
