Was on the top floor of the English school I worked at in that moment. We had sky tv so the students could watch English programmes and I was on my break. Got a coffe out the machine we had there and sat on the sofa to chill out for twenty minutes before my class. There was a student there when I arrived, and she filled me in on what she'd seen as I watched that tradgedy unfold.

I almost wish I didn't watch it because I just can't shake some of the images out of my head now. Seeing people desperately waving out of the windows in the floors above the impact and then seeing them falling to their deaths was incredibly upsetting to watch. Also seeing all the firemen going into the towers and knowing they would soon collapse and kill them all was very difficult to watch.
RIP all those brave people.

If it is true, I struggle to see what anyone gained.

There are plenty of good videos on youtube outlining the economics of war and strange 9/11 facts, however probably the best documentary on the event was taken down by youtube under government pressure. It was about four hours long but rivetting viewing as it included the views of scientists, demolitions experts and prominent professors who analysed the footage and picked apart the findings of the 9/11 commision. It also gave interviews with those firefighters and rescue workers present on the day, many of whom were adamant it had been an inside job.
Anyway I remember leaving the study centre in college and the supervisor told me a man had flown a plane into the wtc. The small radio report gave the impression of a solo kamikaze mission in a biplane.
However by the time I'd caught the bus it became apparent something a little larger had occurred. People where on the phones talking about Canary Wharf, 3 miles away, having been evacuated. As i walked in the living room, 30 minutes later I saw the images of both towers being hit then, within a couple of minutes, as i was still to say a word to my parents who were also both stood there, The second tower collapsed and I knew the world had changed forever.
I was working about two blocks away from the Sears Tower in Chicago when the first plane struck. Initially, a lot of confusion over what really happened. We had to listen on radio because the internet clamped up due to all of the traffic. Really surreal. Then the second plane hit and downtown Chicago emptied - Sears Tower was evacuated and we scampered out of downtown.
Sat at home and watched it until I fell asleep on the couch.
First time that I really felt vulnerable as an American at home.

The unfortunate thing about those videos is that they're for the most part amateur, and therefor lack a high degree of credibility. The 9/11 commissions investigation was superficial, and there seems to be a total lack of credible experts willing to really dig into the details of the event to find out what really happened.
I understand people don't wish to make wild claims due to the high emotions surrounding the awful event, but I think we owe it to the victims and all those who displayed immense bravery to help others, to find out exactly what happened on that day. So many questions have yet to be answered or even addressed, and we cannot truly achieve justice until that has changed.

To be fair, I dont think it hinges on professional film-making. I've seen a couple of documentaries on BBC that are highly professional. The one regarding the apparent demolition of WTC 7 springs to mind. The problem is that every forensic claim can be countered by another and the truth cant emerge in that type of fog. My own doubts aren't related to the 'demolition' of the towers but on matters of intelligence and how motivated the new Bush regime was on stopping an event like this. As the recent Megrahi case demonstrates, a likely atrocity can be allowed to occur even with knowledge of an impending strike pretty much because it suited a geopolitical strategy in the late 80's.

I am loathed to say this because I love America and Americans but I do believe that the American goverment had concrete prior intelligence that this was being planned . I would even go as far as saying that the CIA knew exactly who these people where . Knew exactly were they where training and where they planned to take action .
Think about it . The trade towers had ALREADY been attacked before prompting a massive security overhaul .Perhaps you could excuse the first plane excecuting its evil mission but the gap in time before the second plane hit considering the military might of the USA and no fighter jet intercepting is very.. very.. very.. strange indeed considering the general population knew that the second jet was the victim of a hijacking BEFORE IT HIT .
Alot of people in the know about demolition claim that upon the collapse of the twin towers steel supports appeared to have been cut at perfect 45 degree angles . Also the molten metal was found a full TWO WEEKS after the towers collapsed still burning away at an incredible temperature . This experts claim was because of a planted chemical compound agent used to bring down crucial structural support beams in order to fell the towers .
There was a scene from last nights programme where a bloke runs up the esculators in what appears to be a total deserted lobby only to find a lone bloke who came from nowhere with a strange hood over his head . Considering everything was covered in dust why wasnt he ? Why did he appear so calm and collective considering everyone else had run for their lives ? Why did he have on a " special secret service " body warmer on ? Alarm bells just went off in my head when he appeared . Something about him just did not add up .

I watched that programme to, life changing event, really terrible act, I was working at Thomas Cook commercial foreign exchange, I actually dealt with banks by messaging and on the phone, alot of contacts in New York, we had tv's in the office for the currency dealers so we saw it all happen, the fit hit the shan for quite a while after wards, but you'd be suprised at how well every one rallied around banks actually helped each other out, taking over each others problems and sharing offices....kept some of the inter bank messages that were broadcast regarding the incident in manhatten...never forget it, especially seeing people jump, don't tend to see that as much on the documenteries any more for obvious reasons......
I'm not sure it was the worst thing in my lifetime though, I can't forget the Asian Tsunami, I remember that as well, I remember going to Anfield (as a treat for the old man) watching them play southampton and thinking that as many people has died as were in the stadium. That was when the estimates were around 45,000. Turned out that around 250,000 people died.
I suppose 911 was worse in alot of ways because of it being an act of terrorism but the tsunami was huge natural disaster...

There will always be a conspiracy about anything major that happens in the US - there just will be. The JFK assassination is a prime example - I don't really see how anyone can believe the Warren Commission findings. 9/11 and the WTC are completely different - JFK was one man and his demise was certainly politically motivated. Take your pick as to who the players might have been.
No way I can be forced to believe that the US government actively and knowingly assisted in the murder of 2000+ politically innocent citizens. Accuse me of sticking my head in the sand if you will but no way that's possible.
What would have been the end result of the government's intervention in seeing the WTC come down? Finding another "enemy" for us to focus on now that Russia/communism is a non-entity?
Regardless of our spotty track record (fomenting "regime change", invading countries, inflicting our own with syphillis for experimentation, and our peerless racial past), can't believe that the US government participated in the cold blooded murder of more than 2000 citizens.

Its harder to see something from the inside, but to us on the outside, there are too many questions unanswered and this in itself will always form conspiracy theories. If everything is open and understandable to the public, this kind of stuff cant breed, but when every single facet of the event is shrouded in secrecy, what can you expect.
