You know, in those media circles, Guardian employees would certainly have heard rumours at the very least but they still went ahead with this just because he called Farage a poundshop Enoch Powell.
Is astonishingly bad in retrospect. The Guardian is an increasingly embarrassing publication
Not sure Katherine Viner was editor at that point. I suspect a different line may have been taken. Maybe not.

Sadly the only thing I am surprised by is we managed to get to page 26 before someone posted that sort of vomment.

I suppose on the plus side it is a sign of progress and the impact of the #metoo movement- in the 2000s/2010s when these assaults were reported to have taken place that mentality would have been far more prevalent.

Which such posters might want to consider before they trot out “why didn’t they report it to police at the time”.

Someone at the start did say " Russell Brand had sex with Groupies!! Shocking stuff "

Do people even read the allegations before they come out with this stuff? Not only is consensual sex completely different than non-consensual sex and even “groupies” have the right to say no to sex, but one of victims had a working relationship. Guess the moral of that story is she should have been at home at the kitchen sink if she wanted to avoid that sort of thing /s.

A woman who told the Sunday Times she had met Brand at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting before they started working together claims he sexually assaulted her at his home in Los Angeles. She alleges he tried to kiss her and remove her clothes as he pinned her down, and she shouted at him to stop. “I was screaming: ‘What are you doing, stop, please, you’re my friend,’” she said.

She claims he eventually relented but he “flipped” and shouted at her, saying she was fired. She claims that years later she spoke to someone who had been working on a project with Brand and was outside the house at the time of the incident. He allegedly apologised for not helping her, and said: “I heard you screaming” and: “We were all so scared of him.”

Brand allegedly threatened the woman later with legal action if she told anyone about her allegation, and she said she never formally reported him because she feared it would affect her career.

Turns out he's just over 6'1", always looked like a pop pixie with the naff barnet and the ultra skinny jeans. London is crammed with cctv, and no one has some 16 year old in school uniform turning up at his gaff?

Tbf @bignev23 jumped to the defence of Harvey Weinstein and hates women generally, so he's been very consistent on that for a long time

The problem is celebrities Hinksey they are untouchable. Footballers especially.. I see Sigutdson made a debut tonight along with Greenwood 😲

They where both known sex pests in their industries. My advice is stay away from them. What’s yours take a risk and hang about with them cos they’re famous?
So you should resign your job, a job you might have enjoyed and did well at, whenever a sex pest in on the project? In any economy? Do you have any concept how difficult that would be for many people? Let alone how ridiculous to say that should be the solution to not getting attacked.
