Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

I have said I like this post, the reason for that is your portrayal of BK's character which I think is a fair assessment and actually gives credit where it is due. Not his fault that he cannot magic millions but rather the state of the club from the Johnson era which left an awful legacy of debt.

It's a strange one for me as I have always considered myself quite anti-Kenwright. I support the Blue Union and think it's a fantastic initiative.

However I have been reading back match reports from the club in the late 90's and it was a basket case. I think Kenwright brings a calm assurance and authority to the club which translates down. I also think he has selected managers very well.

Why oh why did they take this picture next to our trophy cabinet :)

State of his face.

Managers get time...Moyes did, and Walter got too much of it. But fat chop's "good vision" for the club had us in a box hovel in Kirkby until KEIOC slapped him down.

Stability....Trevor Birch lasted a month or two, Wynness objected to interference and was summoned to a billionaire's yacht to explain himself, and Ian Ross leaked emails critcising the running of the club and direct colleagues.

Pride...banning AGM's, briefing the media to denigrate fans, having serial bankrupt Robert Earl on the board, and lying to fans about "effectively free" "world class" stadiums is nothing to be proud of.

A good negotiator would have clinched the NTL investment deal, arranged capital to finance the Kings Dock, avoided the 25 year term repayment loan, and clinched one of the various buyouts that have been put to him instead of asking far too much.

Joke of a chairman and if our managers start us slipping down the Sky TV gravy train by failing to over perform on limited resources, he's left us with no meaningful commercial income to rely on in comparison with competing clubs.

Well there is no doubt mistakes have been made. I am not pro-Kenwright either.

There's no doubt we are in a precarious position though I think that's true of a lot of clubs. However I remember lots of clubs selling to investors, Newcastle, Portsmouth, Villa, West Ham, QPR and in the end very few of them have been as successful as we are.

Managers do get time, but very few give them as much time as Kenwright. Would Martinez still be in a job if Spurs were in this position? For some that's a weakness but I think it's a great strength. We have a flourishing academy too and he has done well to get a lot of the old boys back involved, from Sharp, to Stuart, to Royle and Unsworth.

Hi LL

You are one of my top 10 posters on this board...you know as much or more than most of these muppets. Football knowledge you might be near the head of the class. I do agree with a lot of what you're saying, but imagine if things were in reverse. Geads on loan to Spurs. Imagine that conversation on both boards.

End of the day you have my utmost respect...but give the lad a chance, yeah?
Oh I will - I'm hoping that Lennon does the same to me that McCarthy did to @ijjysmith and I'm vaulted to hell and back!

Under Johnson, it was pretty bad, make no mistake. As for BK, yes he has made mistakes at least they appear to us on the outside that way. There could be a very different story on the inside the details of which we know very little. There are worst out there no doubt of that. However you will never convince DaveK on the question of BK. There may not be much cash about but the club is stable and seems to be managing its debts and other liabilities whilst at the same time giving the manager a degree of support.
