How can anyone have watched so much of Watford to form an honest opinion lol

Hope they watched the pre-Xmas Richarlison before he signed or they'd have looked very stupid....

Not sure about anyone else but i watch non CL PL clubs quite a lot as i always like to watch players we could potentially go for, who can do it in the league and who we can get, i more tune into the player and what they do then the game. Wouldn't be one for watching the Ukrainian second division or anything like that mind.

Ive watched Watford quite a bit over the last four years, firstly for Richarlison, he is a gem, then for Doucoure im on record as wanting him in the last couple of seasons and this year for Sarr - id love him to.

On Doucoure, hes a talented lad, big engine, up and down, is an absolute unit and can basically out muscle anyone in the league, is a massive presence in the center of the park and really difficult to get through to break a line. He has legs and get up the field to, ball retention is good he can assist and score.

Two games stand out for me one, against us when he just utterly dominated us in the center, Gomes and Gueye bouncing of him he was a colossus and just shrugged both aside, Watford won it was at Goodison. The second was against Utd, he made a child out of Pogba and just shrugged him aside. Hes just a massive massive presence, kind of like Fellini was and how we need that at the moment, but more deft and has end product look at his goals and assist record in the last three years from center field

Admittedly he has been of color this season and i think some are right when they say he didnt look motivated, bar a run of ten games when Peasron first came in and he was back to is best, he wained then again though looking resigned.

I like him always did and id fully back his signing, i think he will surprise many if he comes.

If signing doucore means Iceland isn't near the starting 11 then yes please jebus cripes, all day long, make this happen brands.

Some of you need to give your heads a wobble - he's better than what we got atm, only caveat is I just hope we're not spending tonnes on him.

Thats me. Sick of bailing other clubs out. If that £40m is paid, thats thick end of £100m we have lobbed at Watford.

Thought the PL pay them a parachute payment, not us.

Sure, but we'd be signing a 29 year old and a 27 year old for around £60m combined - one relegated from this league and the other only because Ancelotti knew about him because he managed him - after being stung repeatedly with terrible signings in this age range from players simply picking up a last big contract and dawdling their way through it a la Sigurdsson.

It just screams ineptitude to me. I don't see the point in Brands at this point.
We signed Gueye from Villa when they had just been relegated

I will say this - if we bring in both Doucoure and Allan on permanent deals approaching that amount (who knows at this point if both are sealed), Brands is putting his neck on the line big time. Two players with limited re-sale value who will be on fairly big wages. It's not clear on how signings factor into his overall expectations and accountability at the club, but boy he would be taking a swing here.

Sandro - 25
Richarlison - 23
Iwobi - 24
Gbamin - 24
Kean - 20
Holgate - 23
Brandthwaite - 18
Calvert Lewin - 23

Then there's academy players Davies (22) Kenny (23)

The idea that we have to buy players with resale value is ridiculous. You buy players who will do the job regardless of age.

If not, all you're doing is wanting us to buy young talents who will already have top clubs monitoring them, pay over the odds (see Kean), the do one of two things - Get upset they're not the finished article or if they're that good, get upset that we've sold them too early and cashed in.

The problem we've done is buy ageing players thinking they'd hit the ground running and fit a system. Also the majority of those players were bought under Koeman and Walsh. Koeman made no secret he was there for 3 seasons and that was it. He was on the clock to get results.

Literally so many options and we’ve ended up with a lazy fart.

You would think Brands being European would have signed players from abroad.

Gomes and Mina that’s it thus far isn’t it?

Dear lord that’s Pathetic.
Looking for a player who had already adapted to premier league football, rather than have to wait the usual season for them to get up to speed or not

Spot on Roydo, we need to just bin any stupid asks off, like it's looks like we may have with gabrille - I hope we have told them to screw off if their asking price is rich.

It's like they see it's Everton mentioned and then whack on another 10 million just due to Moshi? Can't be them with Walsh and some of brandsy fees paid TBF.

Good assessment mate. People talking g about his form when Pearson took over where he was played out of position. Seen him dominate the liverpool midfield couple of times so useful player there.Usual people giving out . Never be happy
