Bernard isnt good enough
Gordon isnt the finished product

For me that left hand side is a mish mash with not one player good enough to be considered an out and out starter.

If we can offload Bernard and even try get Gordon or Iwobi a loan move it would open the door for that player to come aboard.

I'd sell Iwobi and Bernard. Get either Sarr, zaha, Lemar or the Celtic lad in with the money

Same argument I have with Kean - the club has a weird fetish of stockpiling young players either in the squad or in the under 23's and the only ones we loan out are the ones deemed not good enough long term.

Had Davies gone out on loan 2 seasons ago I think you would have a different player than the one we have now.

I suppose it depends where we end up with the squad really. Gordon is not being sold, so it depends if we manage to shift Bernard etc.
I would keep him and give him minutes. He looked to me like he could make a difference.

Have no problem with him as a squad player but just dont think he offers enough on a consistent basis.

West Ham and Arsenal, off the top of my head, are games in the back end of Silva’s season where he ran the show.

he has that ability, and when he’s on song he’s brilliant at carrying the ball forward and getting it into the final third. In the form of Rodríguez we have a player there who can receive that pass and make something happen.

he’s obviously not a definite starter though and that’s a good thing. Last year we relied on him to be our entire midfield and he wasn’t up to it, especially after the injury. But now he can be part of a unit which has gone from being the weakest area to the strongest
 
Just saw a clip of a goal he scored at Brighton last season where he drove forward and hit it into the far corner from the edge of the box. A goal that none of our current midfield would score.

We need lots of this, and less performances like the one he had in the fa cup final.
