He was doing really well and at the time we signed Richarlison most people wanted Doucoure as well, but he would have cost a fortune at the time, even if Watford were prepared to sell to us.
He stayed there too long, became stale and ended up going through the motions.
A different club, a new challenge will hopefully bring back the players of two years ago.

Btw Watford took 25 points from 20 games when they moved Doucoure to more of a #10 role and took 9 points from the others.
Not saying much but he's always looked one of their better players whenever he's played against us. He's tall, covers the ground well and if we can get him for around 20m I'd take him. Having the likes of him and Allan would certainly free up Gomes a lot more if we are playing 3 in the middle.
