Maybe we needed the lows to really appreciate the highs. I think the bigger clubs in the league than us would look down their noses at Doucouré and Allan, yet if they were in their team they would probably be brilliant. Last year was a tragedy on the field and a disgrace from most of the players so hopefully we're putting it right this season. After all, Carlo promised us all along that we'd be better this season. He's not a man to make false promises.

Wait until Gbamin is in the midfield with Allan and Doucouré - the new dogs of war!
Good to see him recognise that. He was very clumsy with his passing and touch in the first half, giving the ball away in our half a few times. Improved massively after the break though. He and Allan doing the dirty work is allowing Gomes to flourish higher up in midfield.

Gomes received som dogs abuse, playing in a role he was unsuited to. Put him in his correct position and he flourishes.
