I said in the summer it was absolutely essential we got Delph and Gomes out and replaced them with someone reliable, but it’s just another in the litany of Brands failures.

Someone got to want to buy them though, who can match 100 grand a week?, they not daft, they, especially Delph, would be happy to sit out his contract

Didn't he have a stress fracture in one of his feet last season, when he missed a chunk towards the end of the year?

Could easily have been he never recovered from that

My understanding of that injury is it can be caused be a build of wear and tear or repeated force. It's a bit of a concern that it happened after only a quarter of the season.

Completely delusional to suggest there’s nothing we’re doing wrong from a physio/conditioning point of view and it’s just pure bad luck. Doucoure has had no injury record to speak of in his entire career, comes here and in two seasons he’s had two broken foot injuries seemingly caused by absolutely nothing as I can’t remember him taking a heavy knock or bad tackle at any point in that game.

This season we've been playing a more intense game,with much more running from Doucoure...it may be that this is what has caused the stress.

Not use it as an excuse? Your mob had their first injury in about ten years last season and we’re still hearing about it even now.

I like the name and approach but we are having enough trouble filling our bench at the moment as it was before Doucs!

It could very much be the undoing of the team too.

All the more reason i hope DCL is back soon. If we can get Townsend - DCL - Richarlison and Gray on the pitch at the same time we should be fine for goals. So the replacement for Doucoure (Davies/Gbamin) can focus on defending.
