Transfer Rumour Abdoulaye Doucoure

I mean....it's not exactly wrong. Watford in current day, are probably on same level as us. They reached the FA cup final this year, something we haven't done in 10 years. Plus, they tend to have strong league campaigns every year now, with a strong squad (on par with us during 18/19) and a great manager. Let's not forget, Watford is basically a London club, so a far more desirable place to live than Merseyside, for Doucoure and his family.

If players actually cared for pedigree, then Man City wouldn't be a top 6 side anyways.
Watford had their best premiere league year ever last year and finished in 11th. Doesn't seem like the same level to me.

He's very good but I'm confused as to why we would sign him after signing Gomes. They fill similar roles in a team and have similar weaknesses to the point that I don't really see how they could play together. I like the idea of Doucoure and Gbamin but if that was in the works again why sign Gomes.

I think this might have just taken awhile to come out and in reality the bid was made pre Gbamin signing. Regardless a Doucoure, Gbamin, Gomes, Delph midfield isn't too shabby but it still feels a bit short of that true defensive mid. All of those feel more box to box and don't seem like they could play as the deep player in a midfield 3.

So gbamin dacoure Gomes as the 3 in midfield

Hmm interesting

Coleman mina Keane digne
Gbamin dacoure Gomes
Rich kean zaha

Where would sig and bernard play, not used to having a squad of quality players

Vardy and Mahrez wouldn't have scored those goals without him making those tackles to begin with

You can't have one without the other. Without Kante controlling the middle of the park Vardy and Mahrez don't get the chance to score and thus don't. The fact neither have been as good since no longer sharing a pitch with him says it all (As does the fact Leicester have won nothing since he left, even with Vardy still on the books)

All the best sides to win something have had a defensive midfielder
Knock your heads together ....you're arguing because you can not because either of you is correct. As both of you know and are pretending to ignore, both are essential ...in fact quality across the park is essential. No title was won with a one man band....well not in the modern era.

Silva must have a system that he has discussed with Brands that will accommodate the players we are trying to sign,if we are going to mount a realistic challenge for top four and the two cups we’ll need strength in depth.
