Sounds like we’re serious about signing the big man then. Who do we think we are? Potentially spending £120m+ if we’re really after all the players we seem to be.

Personally think Watford need to pipe down, accept that Capoue and Cleverley is their new first choice midfield and slide gracefully towards relegation like the no marks they are.

But we’re also getting a right back and possibly Zaha? Did I read somewhere it was them or Doucoure?

I am, like most of us, really confused over this one. He has a good profile for sure but I have also seen him be given the runaround a fair few times in the PL too. Given what else we need, it seems a strange move. However, I've always watched on jealously at how other clubs have seriously good squads, with players that allow for different options or genuinely put pressure on others to keep performances consistently high. At best we've had decent 11s over the years and that's it, so I'm all for taking us up a notch like this. It is elite club mentality and the only way to compete with the big guns.

However, you do wonder how the budget allows for it.

Perhaps we'll see USM Big Boy Steak Pies sold in the concourses this year.

The concept of more than 11 good players, and playing a different system seems completely lost on so many.

I've no idea if we need to prioritise. I hope we get all the players we want. But this one is imo last of our priorities and it's not a player who I think is good enough to push us forwards.
