Player Valuation: £60m
It is unique to have a number 10 with his work ethic, or is he an 8? Either way he puts some miles in during a game….2 players in 1, very difficult to replace that application. Good job we extended that contract.

It's not really shocking to me that Benitez and Lampard were bad managers, I already knew that.Maybe the case but the without Doucoure stat is the one that shocked me the most.
That's if its true.
Doucoure has scored about 4 screamers off the top of my head. He's just as capable of a fluke as Cahill wasCahill was a much better player, wasn’t amazing technically, but some of the goals he scored for us, overhead kick Chelsea and for Australia, like the one at the World Cup. Doucoure can only dream off. Most of doucoure goals are tap ins. he’s been a big player for us and dyche. But you need better in the 10 role. Had we been fighting relegation when Cahill was here, he would have been sold in 2/3yrs to a European qualifing team
I agree we need to try and replace him, but Gomes isn’t it for me.One thing we could do is try replacing him. Gomes did alright at it and then it didn’t work against City so we just stopped trying.

4 screamers, in 15 league goals not sure about that , anyone who thinks doucoure is as good as Cahill is of their nutDoucoure has scored about 4 screamers off the top of my head. He's just as capable of a fluke as Cahill was
Cahill was obviously the better player but let's not pretend Cahill was some technically brilliant player because he scored 2 flukes there's a reason he never scored any goals from outside the box.cahill couldn't dream of scoring that half volley vs Bournemouth4 screamers, in 15 league goals not sure about that , anyone who thinks doucoure is as good as Cahill is of their nut
He wasn’t the best Lampard, but had some tough luck as well with Injuries . Lost Mina and doucoure in the opening 2 games last season. His striker options in the early games where Rondon, and he tried gray, Gordon and McNeil through the middle before maupay turned up and he had play him every game, think DCL played 2? One being the palace 3-0. He also was playing holgate at the back and Davies was still getting the odd game in midfield, had to also had to rely on 2 young novices in midfield garner and Onana. That’s not to say he wasn’t a poor manager and out of his depth, because he was. It's not really shocking to me that Benitez and Lampard were bad managers, I already knew that.
It's accurate but that's massively skewed by the fact that lampard kept bringing him on with the game already won after the 80th minute for 4 of those 8 wins - after the 85th for 3 of them. It also never helped Carlo that James was out at the same time as Doucoure if I remember rightly. Lampard did find ways to win without doucoure, it just wasn't frequently because he's a bad bad bad manager.
If Dyche keeps us up this season with the points deductions and turmoil it's one of the finest seasons an Everton manager has had in nearly 30 years imo.He wasn’t the best Lampard, but had some tough luck as well with Injuries . It’s always a case of a new manager is put up against the previous one, which seems to put more praise at dyche’s door than he deserves imo. We’ve lost half our games this season and 7 home wins in 19 is not great, this talk that he’s done an incredible job, is a bit over the top imo
And I did make that point about Cahill technically, but he’s scored probably 10 goals better than doucoure’s half volley in an Everton shirt and was miles better in the air. And the Goal Cahill scored at the World Cup goal is much better than doucoure’s half volley tooCahill was obviously the better player but let's not pretend Cahill was some technically brilliant player because he scored 2 flukes there's a reason he never scored any goals from outside the box.cahill couldn't dream of scoring that half volley vs Bournemouth
Mad to think last January we were close to selling him to Fulham. Terrifying
There’s no way maupay was on Lampards list in June, he was signed on deadline day as a last resort, he wanted Kudus and Broja? But we could get them as maupay was a small down payment like McNeil if we didn’t get anyone in we’d have had Rondon as our only striker For the opening 10 games and we had 3 wingers and gray/gordon more suited to the left was maybe a reason he played McNeil on the right. If Dyche keeps us up this season with the points deductions and turmoil it's one of the finest seasons an Everton manager has had in nearly 30 years imo.
A lot of Lampards problems were self inflicted like how he allegedly insisted on Maupay signing and kept playing Mcneil on the right. Calvert Lewin actually started 8 of Lampards last 10 games. Then getting hurt again in Dyches first match.
Dyche keeping this Everton side in the league starting on -10 should make him manager of the year. The squad stinks or at least did stink till he improved them. Im willing to let a lot go with Dyche nowadays because after a rocky start we at least look capable now (with Doucoure at least)
