2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

He went and shushed them. I get it, it’s not much, but he went out his way to do so rather than celebrating with his own fans.

If the game had ended with him stood just in front of them and he fist pumped, fair enough. But he didn’t, he ran across to them to shush them. We would be as livid as them if one of their players did that to us.

Personally don’t mind a bit of craic between players/fans - if fans give it out they should expect it back. But he was intentionally riling them up (which the league is clamping down on anyway).
It's our ground, they can sod off as far as I am concerned.

They can’t look at it as it’s a second yellow. They only look at reds. It was a booking regardless of whatever reason they have put out to the media.
Shame that we seem to be the only team to get yellows for celebrating in front of fans...on the tv footage is very difficult to see exactly what doucoure did, and I am sure the referee would have not seen it...he might have seen the altercation afterwards, but not the initial alleged provocation from doucoure.

He was full of praise for all the players. He’s not going to criticise any of them. He’s not a David Moyes number 10 and he’s also not stupid, it may also not be his decision

….he specifically name-checked Doucoure saying he’ll be a loss because he’s so important to the team. He also praised him and Beto for doing a job on their CBs.

We all know how bad he is, epitomised by giving the ball away for their equaliser but he’s also effective in other things he does and is clearly a handful to play against. Fingers crossed we can get something without him on Saturday night.

I'm not sure about that. He's very much in the Cahill/Fellaini mould (not as good as either but the same principle). I'm not saying I want him to stay in the side or even that Moyes will, but in terms of style I think he fits with what Moyes likes quite well.

He’s been a decent player for us overall. Ever since he got injured last season though he’s looked spent. Those misses yesterday were shocking and very nearly cost us.

Hopefully someone else seizes the opportunity with him being suspended on Saturday.

He does also seem like a decent bloke who cares about the club and gives everything he has every game. Its a shame his technique lets him down.
