2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

He's in his peak years yeah, we need an upgrade but so far we haven't found a combination that works without him. If we want to play Mangala I think the last two games have shown we need his size and legs. But of course most will have predisposed opinions on him and won't actually analyse the situation.
I must of dreamt us completely outplaying Bournemouth when he was sat in the dugout, I remember vividly what happened when he came on though. Doucoure is all about energy, he really doesn’t have a lot else. If you think we need his “size” then talk me through the Palace goal this afternoon.
If the club wants to move on and start actually being better with the ball, having possession of the ball, comfortable to pass the ball around when a goal or 2 up in the last minutes so the opponent is chasing for a change then Doucoure can’t be anywhere near the team. Dyche doesn’t want the ball though so this fella will be getting far more minutes than I believe he should and at the detriment of the progress of others. My take and I’m happy to hear from anyone who thinks this player should be starting games, especially if they have analysed the situation.

So if he's not bigger than everyone at all times in all situations his physicality and energy are irrelevant? Don't be so silly, dropping him deeper has had a good effect on the team.

I've said we need an upgrade, but suggesting a player who's been a starter in the prem for 10 years should be nowhere a side that's fought relegation for 5 years is hyperbolic nonsense.

I liked the performance against Bournemouth, and hopefully Tim and Garner can come into the team and improve us, it's okay to say that without throwing hatred at a different player

Agreed.

Really, really bad on the ball.

Still at times, really, really good without the ball.

Anyone who can’t see what he’s bringing to the team needs to just watch him when we haven’t got the ball.

Not a coincidence we look more solid with him in there. He’s horrific when he gets the ball though it has to be said 🤣.

I think he was much better last week and mostly struggled today. I just believe Tim is a better player and should have started. JB solidifying the backline has made the difference but I think this guy will get more credit from Dyche than he deserves.

Not really bothered by DOUCS. I just feel like we have better players in his positions now.
