2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

When he was through one on one was absolutely pathetic from him. Granted I feel Gueye could have released it a bit earlier, but it turned out nicely for Doucoure, right into his stride, and all he needed to do was put his foot through the ball.

There was the other moment early on when he was played through / had a decent ball played for him to run onto and it looked like he was about six stone overweight and could barely break out of a trot.

I don't doubt he's probably a very nice guy, but he should be nowhere near starting games for any Premier League side any more. The fact that we can say exactly the same about at least half of our starting XI players makes it no surprise at all that we're right in the relegation mix once again.

….agree, he’s symptomatic of the quality of footballers we have in our squad, yet we rarely pick up points without him in the team. When we regularly win games without him it will demonstrate we have progressed.

This is where we are after years with Dyche and Thelwell.

Gonna be hilarious when we eventually do get a new manager and half the forum write him off immediately and spend the following 18 months in Everton Fan manager wars part 345.

It's easier to just have blind faith, surely? :hayee:
And so the cycle continues. The tail that wags the attack dog. The Geordieifcation of our fanbase man, by Make Everton Great Again super bloos.

He looks to me like he’s been playing injured for a while, it might just be that the culmination of a number of injuries over the years have changed what he is capable of, but his movement is no where near it used to be. I think he can still do a defensive job, but he can’t get up and down the pitch like he used to. If we are going to play him behind DCL, he needs to stay more in the final third, because when he drops deep he can’t get forward fast enough to be effective.
