2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

Is it still right that we haven’t won a game without him since Lampard was manager?

I don’t really understand his effectiveness most of the time, but occasionally there are flashes of competence. I thought he played pretty well against Chelsea. Didn’t give the ball away as readily as he has done.

I thought he did very well today considering his usual scatterbrained-ness in attack. Carried it out from our box multiple times and shifted it to Harrison/Ndiaye. Solid defensively apart from one dodgy square ball that we got away with.

Work rate is good , like Harrison though he’s an absolutely atrocious footballer

Yep, last 2 games he's been ok but he just constantly looks like he's either going to trip over the ball or trip over his own leg.

There's just no confidence that we'll create good enough chances without them breaking down when he's involved.

If he doesnt play, who replaces him?

We lose the running power both ways. Thats an asset for the team.

Fact is we have Ndiaye who can replace him and adds offensively what we may lose defensively.

However, we also then lose a left winger.

The reason Doucoure has this record seems to be that we dont have a replacement that wont negatively upset the balance.

Sign a couple of super wingers, move Ndiaye inside and we'll look better im sure.
