I totally agree. Doucoure is not a good number 10. Never have been. Never will be. But it is still by far his best position.

It might be unfair, but he is a little like Tim Cahill. Not very good at what you want from a player in his position, but still valuable because of the odd important goals he scores. When Cahill stopped scoring he wasn't good enough to play in the Premier League. The same goes for Doucoure.

He has 0 goals in 1258 minutes this season. Last season he scored 7 in 2643. 5 in 1529 the season before.

If he had 4 or 5 goals this season it would be easier to look past his shortcomings.

Very true.

But he's been injured (I think) then played as an 8 while McNeil played the 10...who has been very productive.
 
We have 2 players in the team every week in Doucoure and Harrison who are literally in the team because they run around a lot in the attacking positions. And people wonder why there's no goals in this system.

I can't imagine there's many teams in the 92 that carry players on the wing and at 10 who can just run for 90 minutes and we're in the Prem not league 2.
