I know he’s useless in possession but in seasons past he’s certainly contributed to us maintaining our top flight status. Never hides, never shirks responsibility and I think playing definitely matters to him.
He’s the obvious one to be replaced when Alcaraz comes in but our record without him is dreadful for a reason. When we don’t need to play Doucoure is when we’ve progressed, hopefully that’s very soon.

…I thank-you. I think it was 19 points last season from games he scored in (but I’m drinking rum and might have that wrong). He’s been terrific for us.
I’ll be honest, I’ve never got the hate for him. He’s not the most creative, the most eye catching or the most skilful by far…. But he’s one of those players you would miss if he wasn’t in the team… he works his socks off, closes off so many passing channels for the opposition, does a lot of the donkey work for others and is dependable as a 6 or 7 out of 10 most weeks. I don’t expect many here to agree but I bet if you asked the players he’s one of the ones they’d most miss if he wasn’t playing.

His running dovetails with Gana's. That energy in the middle has made up for a lot of drawbacks. Also buys an other (Mangala previous, and Garner today) that little bit of time to pick a pass forwards.
What's changed is the dedication to defence first football, our players are being encouraged to get forward and try something. Other sides had gotten onto our stale defence first inviting them onto us restricted football. It was so full of fear. Now sides are waking up to us being a scoring threat, the middle aint given up free quite like it was.
It’s mad really… fans are fickle. I remember last season we were loosely linked with Elanga and loads on here were fuming…. He’s been fantastic for forest. You don’t have to be the best player to be effective in a system. Doucs has his limitations for sure, but in a system that requires what he offers he’s been fantastic, not a world beater by any distance but systems suit players.

notts forest have been quite cute, they drafted in a bunch of young hungry big lads and settled them in, mixed with a bit of quality and work like mad. Reminds me of a side from about 20 years ago.
