Folks,

We've recently improved our statistic monitoring and have become aware that nearly 27% of last months traffic had a version of 'adblock' installed. In Layman's terms, nearly 30% of you exclude any of our adverts.

Now, our sponsors have trackers on their adverts to see how many times their adverts are being loaded, which they evaluate careful prior considering any sponsorship renewal - so you can see the problem we have.

Our adverts are not intrusive, and clearly, we rely on them to help keep this place maintainable. GOT is by some margin my biggest expense and the long and short of it is, if our sponsors dont renew and I can't secure an alternative - GrandOldTeam dies.

Play the game - if you have adblock, make the two clicks required to add us to your safe/whitelist.

It's a free service which the owner of the site pays for and makes no money from, he has every right to tell you what he can and can't do. It would be a totally different ball game if Dan was making a profit from this site, he's absolutely not, not even close i imagine.

Fair shout, but it's important as it genuinely is a big risk to GOT. If the divide between advert money and server fees get any wider the we're goosed. It's gradually getting wider with the increase of Adblock.

Don't get me wrong, i don't want to come across as an ass. I do appreciate what you do as i use the forum everyday, i understand the costs of hosting a forum and how much work you put in, I also now understand that the adverts are beneficial to this forum bringing in money for it to help and run the site.

I also don't dislike yourself when i have seen you post.

The only thing i do dislike is being talked down to when i raise my opinion on something you may disagree with, that is literally all.
