Ademola Lookman

Makes me laugh when it's said that you can't keep unhappy players at the club because they disrupt the team. We've had Mirllas for nearly a decade. Throw in Schneiderlin and Williams for the past few years. I guarantee that a Lookman tantrum would be a mouse fart in a hurricane compared to those 3.

100% this, and to top it off he’s on far less wages than those 3 too.

Why are we even entertaining lowball bids for one of our most promising players. We shouldn’t be considering allowing him to go at all but if we are then we should’ve slapped £50m on his head weeks ago.

I feel I shouldn’t comment until we have actual proof it’s happening but it seems as though there’s no smoke without fire with this one and honestly, something about the way this club is still ran is an absolute shambles.

And I consider myself positive usually but something about this one in particular is angering me, more so than Lukaku, Stones or Barkley and I don’t know why because Lookman hasn’t made half the impact any of those did.

But he still knows he's more than likely go straight in to that Leipzig side, playing European football at a good level. Where as he'll be 2nd fiddle to Walcott and Richarlson now.

I don't blame him if that offer is there. It's not like he's going to Chelsea to rot on a bench.
Mate. Leipzig have far better forwards than us. He'll find it harder to get in their team than he would in ours.

This is the first (and hopefully only) serious fallout from the Allardyce era. He has to be replaced by a young equally talented star like Lozano. Otherwise it's bad business.

I disagree with those who say we can't keep hold of him if he wants to leave. He has 3 years left on his contract. We control the situation, not him.

Nothing from our press that we’ve accepted any bid.

If we sell him, it’s going to be against the manager’s and DoF’s wishes. What a great start to a new era:hayee:
I dont think so.
Its no coincidence hes not been involved pre season...he doesnt want to play..so get rid. Theres a reason why Leipzig kerp coming back...they know Lookman wants to go to them..and Everton will sell at the RIGHT PRICE

Exactly. Frankly, Silva and Brands should be able to manage a 20 year old. If they want to offer 30M+, then we can talk. If he thinks he's so darn good, he should at least go for that much.

By all accounts the little plantpot is sulking in training and refusing to play in friendlies claiming hes injured.

He doesnt want to be here, so quite frankly I dont care how good he thinks he is, I dont want him here, punt the weapon, move on.

While it's disappointing that he wants to leave, if true, it's easy to forget that when he signed it was never meant to be immediately for the first team, he was meant for the U23s, then he was thrown into the squad for the City game because of injuries, came one and scored and people got a bit carried away

Needs teaching a lesson then Goat.

I really hope we don't sell him on the cheap just because he's sulking. £25m plus sell on clause. Either that or tell Ralfie that he can have him plus £25m extra for Upamecano.

You show him the contract with his signature on and the length of time left.

Also, when Pickford rejects the new deal, does he become the next rat/ snake?

I think the issue is more we can't be seen to be holding players back from moving on like that.

As a club in our position, the players we can attract are either players on their way down or players on the way up. Wheather you like it or not the talk we will be having with player's on their way up. Will be along the lines of "come here progress for us for a few seasons, then when a champions league team comes in for you then we'll sell you".

If you start strong arming players and keeping them at the club against their will and holding them to their contract, then two things will happen.

1) the player won't believe you'll fulfil your promises to him, so won't want to come.

And

2) the agent won't want him to sign because he knows he'll be missing out on a big pay day in two seasons time.

All that happens when a player wants to go and you hold them to their contract is their unhappy for a season their form usually suffers and then you end up selling them the next season anyway.

Nah, I only agree with this if we’re getting the amount he’s actually worth. The days should be gone of being given the runaround by a kid and his agent. By letting him go for £20-25m the only winners are him, his agent and Leipzig. He’ll probably be worth at least double that after 2 seasons there.
