I don’t get why everyone is appalled that a young footballer with no ties to Everton wants to play football and would like to move so that he can get more football after a season where we dicked him around and had 3 different managers. In an age where we have wasters not arsed at all picking up huge wedges every week for sitting on benches I think it’s refreshing for a young lad to want to play and improve his ability.

Do get the sense he just wants to be involved and wanted somewhere. And can totally understand why he’d be sceptical about getting that at EFC given recent history.

But I could easily imagine him getting what hes looking for here under Silva. He should just get his head down and show he should be starting matches.

For EFC, I think their position is right: for our price you can leave. We want him to stay but at the moment he’s behind Richarlison and Walcott.
His best advice would be to be patient, break through here then if he gets to be a top player he could move for double the money and double his salary later. If he runs away from the english league he's likely to become a jobbing journeyman who will be remembered by no fans.

Instead of him blaming Fat Sam for forcing him out last season, you'd have thought he would take the new management as an opportunity to showcase what he can bring to the table?

If Silva wants him, I'd have thought he would have already told him as much. If he's been told he'll be a back up player, then that's 3 managers that have indicated he's not currently good enough in some way (physically, ability or mentally) to be a starter.

Will wait to see what happens in the coming days. Loan out suggests there is something there, a sale suggests something is not quite right with the lad... If he stays, then great. I'm happy to trust in the manager's judgement on this one. Likewise 20m+ gets us a good chunk towards someone that improves our starting lineup.

It’s the perfect set up for him here. He’ll come on for Richarlison or Walcott as we use him carefully throughout the season, starting some games subs bench and an impact player in others. That’s what happened on his loan to Leipzig . He’s got loads of natural talent and skill but still needs developing in areas.

He doesn’t want to improve his ability though, it’s clear he thinks he’s all that already. Look at the way Richarlison has played the last two games, if he thinks he’s anywhere near that level then he’s sadly deluded.

This is totally right, he has undoubted talent but is still raw and needs to wait his time. Whenever he’s come in he shows poor decision making and little end product, this is understandable for a lad of his age and may never fulfill his potential if he doesn’t learn.

As much as i like him, he looked completely uninterested when he came on yesterday. He got a cracking reception from the faithful too but several times i seen him just pass the ball and then trot away uninterested in being any further part of the play. Pretty sure Silva would have noticed the lack of interest too. Maybe it has all gone to his head a bit and he thinks he doesnt have to try any more or maybe he wants to go back to Leipzig. Either way, he is not doing himself any favours with that sort of uninterested attitude.

But if he always sits only on the bench, he will never reach the desired level. He can only learn by playing. And plays again and again, although he still makes mistakes.

For what it’s worth he spent plenty of time after the game signing autographs and posing for pictures with young fans outside. He was very chatty and polite. Probably doesn’t mean much but other players avoided this- no Jags, Pickford or Sigurdssun for example- so Lookman presumably could have just snuck out at the end if he was desperately unhappy rather than spend 20 mins signing autographs.
Thanks for posting this. Very easy for us all to make assumptions, let’s get him on the pitch and if he’s not arsed January he’s gone.

Little prick has done absolutely nothing in the game yet and acting like he’s the next big thing. Prove yourself first then you might actually be taken seriously.

Bit tough to prove yourself removing splinters from your arse every week.

Get rid if he can’t settle down and get on with it.

Most people aren't appalled at that though, are they?
