Silva gets touted as this great new coach who the players seemingly love to work under... But is he improving our players at all????

I honestly thought sterling would be out the door faster than Joe Hart at City due to being good but very ineffective.

The transformation of sterling under peps coaching has, for a word, been phenomenal.

Is silva having any such impact on the players??

Keane is definitely one. You could argue Sigurdsson as well as all 6 of his new signings bar Bernard who are all completely different players to what they were last season. For sure he's an excellent coach who has a clear vision and a style of play, I'm just not sure about him from a tactical standpoint. Our only plan B so far has been to lump it up to DCL and hope for the best (although then again tbf our squad depth is rank rotten and there's not a great deal else he can call upon from the bench)

Sterling has been at City 3 years, not 3 months.

Rw? Lw? What’s that ?

That doesn't mean they were playing as a winger - my guess is that you knew that and you were trying to be funny. Regardless, the thread is about Lookman, who loves to play as an inside forward type that cuts in from the left and scores goals. He's not a winger, doesn't play on the touchline, doesn't like to cross the ball, etc. The better question is whether or not Coleman is past it or just can't play with either.

Improving? Absolutely.

Beyond that, let's not make Sterling out to be some reclamation project. Wasn't he the biggest transfer fee for an English player EVER at the time?

It's pep that has made him the player he is today tho.

I'm not seeing much improvement from Lookman or Davies when he's played.. Whys Dowell not even featuring, surely he is improving under silva?

I see foden started for City in the champs league last night

Look at Man Utd back under Ferguson, they brought through the kids into a very successful team...same as at City.

Whereas were bring in;

Lookman on the right ahead of Coleman when hes a left sided inside forward....

Davies next to Gana who isnt the best passer

Dowell doesnt track back or press it seems which are two areas Silva wants players to cover, also Sigurdsson had been playing really well.

Theres a lot of reasons but i think if one of these players was put into a top championship winning team and given time to step up they would have a better chance...

Also Ferguson brought in players like Oshea etc who werent very good but could look ok due to the quality around them

We arent at that level...yet.
